" different lives, almost different "

Third person's pov

The sun streams through the blinds, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Freen stirs in her bed, a soft groan escaping her lips. She reaches for her phone, the screen illuminating her face.

" Another day. Another chance to start over. "

She pulls herself out of bed, the sheets clinging to her like a second skin. She walks to the window, the city sprawling before her, a tapestry of noise and movement.

The world keeps turning, even when your world has been turned upside down.

She takes a deep breath, the crisp morning air filling her lungs.

" But today, I'm not going to let it break me. Today, I'm going to be strong. "

It's been months since she filled an annulment and it's already been processed. Good news, she's annulled already—finally. It's hard for someone who loves deeply but what can she say? it supposed to be like it. It should be like it.

—IN SCHOOL—

Freen sits in the back row, her eyes glued to her notebook. The professor drones on about something she can't quite focus on. Her mind keeps drifting back to the events of the past few months. Still not getting over it.

" The annulment was final. It was over. " she kept reminding herself.

She closes her eyes, trying to shut out the memories.

But the pain still lingers.

—IN THE CAFETERIA—

Freen sits alone, picking at her lunch. She watches the other students, their laughter and chatter a stark contrast to the silence that surrounds her. She's supposed to be happy. She's supposed to be free.

She forces a smile, but it feels hollow.

" But how can I be happy when I feel so lost? "

—IN THE HALLWAY—

Freen walks down the hallway, her head down, lost in her thoughts. Suddenly, a hand reaches out and grabs her arm.

" HEY DOUCHEEE! " Heng said before leaning onto her shoulder.

" What do you want? " Freen asked tiredly.
