As the wedding day came nearer, Megha found herself caught between excitement and nervousness.
Every passing day brought new preparations, new rituals, and endless conversations about the future.
She would wake up early, helping with decorations, finalizing last-minute details, and trying on her bridal jewelry.
But at night, when the world quieted down, a strange restlessness crept into her heart.
Megha paced around the living room, her fingers gripped the phone tightly.
She had been restless all day, an unexplainable weight pressed against her chest.
A strange unease settled in her heart.
Taking a deep breath, she finally called Gautam, hoping his voice would calm her.
"I don't know why, but I feel like something bad is about to happen..."
It felt too quiet for her, it was as if it was the calm before the storm.
"You must be paranoid about the wedding, everything will be fine once it's over," Gautam comforted.
"I really do hope so. I'm really afraid that someone might do something in the dark." Megha expressed her worries.
To make sure the wedding would proceed smoothly, Gautam had already arranged for his top bodyguards to protect the venue.
"Should we just cancel the wedding?" Megha asked.
She would not mind if the wedding were not held, as the thing she wanted the most at that moment was for her family to be safe.
"It's too late to cancel it, the invitation has already been sent out. I promised to give you a grand wedding, and I'm not planning to go back on my word."
Gautam showed that his will to marry her would not waver, no matter what happened.
"All right, fine."
"Get some good rest. You are going to be my beautiful bride tomorrow."
Megha had only slept for a few hours when the dress-up artist came to her place.
The bridesmaids, which consisted of Priya and several of her close friends were all waiting for her in their traditional Indian outfits.
Megha stood in front of the mirror, dressed in a stunning bright red and gold lehenga. Her hands were adorned with intricate henna designs.
Megha's heart pounded in anticipation as she looked at her reflection.
Priya adjusted the maang tikka on her forehead and smiled. "Oh my! You're so pretty! Gautam sir is going to forget how to breathe when he sees you."
