Every time I close my eyes, I see a flash of the past. Sometimes, I see the battlefield with bodies at every step, and smoke from artillery fire everywhere you looked. Sometimes I see friends, Odin, Michael, and even Azazel. But most of the time, I...
For as long as I can remember I always meditated before a big fight. It's not about inner peace or some other banal reason. No, it was about clearing the noise. Suppressing the feeling, adrenaline coursing through your veins, your body trying its best with processing toxicity. And then, there's that voice. The one that tells me to go faster, harder, better.
Oh, am I that voice? Are you finally mentioning me in your diary?
Meditation isn't some magic trick, but it does something. It gives me a moment to breathe, to be in the now. For a few hours, there's no chaos. Just me, my thoughts, and my focus. I find that when I've done it, I can plan ahead, make smarter moves. It's like sharpening a blade before a fight, it gives you the edge.
Isn't meditation something you do when you wait for your concoctions to brew?
I don't just meditate then. I also meditate when I need to wait for something. Like I'm waiting now for noon.
In the middle of a grain field covered in snow mind you.
I'm waiting for the noonwraith. It will only show itself somewhere around this field. I should be able to hear it when it decides to appear.
Why even waste your time with this? Forget lifting that curse. It's not like you gain anything from it.
Wrong there. I gain plenty.
Of course, money. Money that you don't need.
Pleasure. I gain pleasure from lifting a curse. Can't help but feel proud when I do.
But is this curse worth risking your life for?
I'm risking my hide every night, and you only complain now?
I just—
Quiet, I hear it.
Noonwraith: (howl)

Well... this shouldn't take long.
Wraiths are dangerous because they can phase between realities. They can appear and disappear at their will, and they especially abuse this ability during combat. However there are ways to force them into staying in one reality. I used a silver bomb, once the wraith loses his ability to disappear and reappear behind you then the fight becomes relatively easy. Even if the effects of the bomb would run out then I could still use a sign to keep it here. After the bomb and a few nasty cuts from my sword the wraith started crying, and speaking.
Noonwraith: Enough! Why must I suffer like this!? Was I not punished enough!?
Legend: Punished? By who?
Noonwraith: You don't know? Then why are you hunting me? I thought they had sent you.
Legend: You mean the daughters of Lilith? They did send me, but they don't control me. So, let's chat. Or would you rather we get back to fighting?
