Chapter 25- Imperfectly Perfect
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”~ Oscar Wilde
The sun shining in my eyes wakes me from my not-so-peaceful sleep. The entire night Conor's face was playing on my mind. I spent hours crying to my idiotic self before I fell into a sleep in which Conor overtook. Getting up I glance at the clock; 7:30. College. I groan to myself heading to the bathroom. Looking at myself in the mirror I decide it's best if I shower; huge puffs below my eyes sat there reminding me of last night. Great, gonna have to see him today.
Once ready I head downstairs, not bothering with breakfast, and making my way to school. Parking up I make my way into the school before walking joining Mikayla and Peter.
"Hey guys." I give them a small, forced smile.
"Hey." they both replied in unison.
I try to get involved with them and their conversation but I just can't. My mind just slips back to Conor and where he is.
They day slips by without me even realising and before I even know it the bell rang signalling for lunch. Mikayla walks by my side blabbing on about something that I don't even care about; all I care about was Conor and where he was. I still haven't seen him all day. I so badly want to ask someone if they saw him but decide against it. Maybe he just had to go to the studio or something. Whatever.
Mikayla standing in front of me waving her hands in front of my eyes breaks me from my thoughts.
"Huh?"
"Okay, tell me what's going on. Right. Now."
"What are you talking about?" I decide to play dumb.
"Oh, come on Anna. I have known you for years now I know when something is wrong with you, and I know there is something up right now. So spill."
"Seriously it's nothing. I'm just tired that's all."
"Oh. From the weekend with Conor?" She winked at me. Hearing his name brings this ache to my heart.
"Mhhmm..." I look away trying to blink away the tears.
"Speaking of which... Where is he? I thought he would have stolen you away from us like yesterday? I mean he practically could not get enough of you yesterday, had his arms around you and everything..."
"Let's go get some lunch, I'm starving." I try to change the subject but failed.
"By the way, you still haven't told me what happened on your romantic getaway on the weekend."
Just hearing that causes my tears to fall over. Noticing this she must have realised what I had been trying to tell her.
"Yeah... let's go get lunch."
I meekly nod, letting her link arms with me and heading towards lunch. Keeping my head down I let her lead. Hearing a familiar laugh I look up at a sight that makes my heart drop into my stomach. I stop in my tracks, staring. Kay looks at me to see why I stopped, opening her mouth to say something she stops realising what I am looking at; Conor pinning a girl against the wall, with that playful smirk plastered onto his face and the girl twirling her hair.
Not being able to stop myself, tears fall down my face like a waterfall. Without realising I run forward and past him to the toilets. I hear Kay calling after me but I ignore her not wanting to look back at that sight. The next voice I hear causes me to run faster. Conor's.
