AMISELLE SERISE AVELLANO SALAZAR

Mahigpit ang pagkakahawak ko sa kamay ni Zamira habang nandito kami sa loob ng office ni Doctor Deschler.

"Success," Doctor West Deschler said, smiling so wide.

"Oh my god..." Zamira said, she was so happy and pulled me into a tight hug.

I'm pregnant. The IVF was successful.

I hugged her back. I was so happy, hindi ko alam kung paano ko ide-describe kung gaano ako kasaya ngayon.

We're having a family now.

"Zamira!" pigil inis kong tawag sa asawa ko.

"Yes?!" saad ni Zamira kasabay ang malakas na pagbukas ng pintuan, hingal na hingal siya. Nakasuot pa ito ng business suit niya.

Napanguso ako. "I want something..."

"Tell me wife," saad ni Zamira at naglakad palapit sa'kin.

"I want unicorn!" I happily said. "Can you get me a unicorn?" I asked, smiling so wide.

"A real or plushie?" she asked, mukhang kabado.

"Real." I answered, grinning.

Zamira sighed. "Baby....where the hell on earth am I going to get a unicorn?"

Napaismid ako at umarte ng parang iiyak. "You don't love me anymore?" sabay takip ng kumot sa mukha ko.

Lumapit agad si Zamira, nakaluhod sa gilid ng kama habang pinapawi ang drama ko. "No, no! Don't cry! I love you so much, even more than my coffee and sanity combined!"

Bumungad ako mula sa kumot, kunot-noo. "Eh kung love mo ako, bakit wala ka pang unicorn? Kahit stuffed toy lang with a true rainbow fart."

Napakamot siya sa batok. "I'll raid every toy store in the city if I have to. I'll even fight a toddler for the last magical unicorn plushie if that makes you happy." she said, bakas sa mukha ang kaba.

Napatawa ako. "Promise?"

"Cross my heart and hope to die—though I'd rather live long enough to see our daughter inherit your weird cravings."

“Uy, hindi weird 'yon, artistic 'yon!"

"Right. Very creative," Zamira chuckled bago ako halikan sa noo ko. "Anything else, my majestic unicorn-obsessed queen?"

"Hmm... I want strawberry ice cream with cheese, fishballs on the side, and... isang saging na naka-costume ng minion." I said, malawak na nakangiti at magkadikit ang dalawang palad. Nagpapa-cute ako sa kaniya.

Zamira blinked. "I swear I'm living in a surreal art film."

"Welcome to my pregnancy!" sabay peace sign ko, habang siya naman ay napapailing. Kinuha niya ang cellphone at nag type.

Zamira stood up with determination, fixing her blazer like she was about to attend a secret mission. "Alright. Strawberry ice cream with cheese, fishballs, and a banana dressed as a minion. Got it."

I blinked. "You're really going to look for a banana in a minion costume?'"

She gave me a confident nod. "I've done business deals worth billions, handled boardroom crises, and survived meetings with old rich men who thinks being gay is a disease. This? This is child's play."
