The first officers arrived in full force, surrounding the abandoned resort with precision and authority. Freen, Rebecca, Heng, Nam, and Engfa moved back, letting law enforcement take control. Francis Chankimha stood frozen, a man stripped of all his arrogance, his pride, and his power.
"Francis Chankimha," one officer called out, voice clear and commanding. "You are under arrest for multiple counts of criminal activity, including attempted murder, fraud, and conspiracy."
Francis' face twisted with disbelief and fury. "This... this isn't real!"
Freen stepped forward, the calm storm in her eyes more terrifying than any weapon. "It is real," she said softly. "Every threat, every crime... documented, traced, and ready for prosecution. You can't intimidate anyone anymore. Not me, not my mother, not Rebecca, not our friends."
The officers moved closer, handcuffs ready. Francis struggled, voice rising, but Heng and Nam flanked the group, ensuring there would be no escape.
Engfa, standing to the side, watched with a cold expression. "You underestimated what happens when someone fights back."
Rebecca wrapped her arms around Freen, whispering: "It's finally over."
Freen nodded, feeling the weight of years lift from her shoulders. She watched as the officers cuffed her father, reading him his rights. Francis' protests became increasingly desperate, but the law was absolute. His empire, carefully built over decades, was crumbling, piece by piece.
One officer approached Freen. "Miss Chankimha, your statements and evidence were crucial in bringing him in. You and your team did a remarkable job."
Freen exhaled, feeling an unfamiliar lightness. "Thank you. Justice... finally."
Across the resort, Rebecca smiled softly, still holding Freen's hand. "You were so brave."
Freen leaned against her, eyes glistening. "Not just me. We were all brave. And we had to be. For my mother. For us. For the baby."
As Francis was led away, defeated and powerless, the sun rose higher, scattering golden light across the abandoned resort. The shadows receded. The fear, the manipulation, the years of silent suffering—all of it was finally ending.
Freen closed her eyes, feeling the warmth of the morning, the quiet strength of her allies, and the life growing inside Rebecca. For the first time in years, she felt safe. Free. Alive.
Rebecca pressed her hand against her belly, smiling down at Freen. "Another kick," she whispered. "They know we did it."
Freen chuckled softly, brushing her lips against Rebecca's forehead. "They're already celebrating."
Heng, Nam, and Engfa watched from nearby, a sense of satisfaction and relief filling their faces. They had fought together. They had won together.
Freen knew, deep in her heart, that this was only the beginning of a new life—one free from fear, free from threats, and full of love. She and Rebecca would raise their child in a world where justice mattered, where truth prevailed, and where family was stronger than any empire or tyrant.
As the officers loaded Francis Chankimha into the squad car, Freen whispered to herself:
"It's over... at last."
Rebecca leaned in, whispering in her ear, soft and tender: "And we have a future... together."
Freen smiled, feeling a sense of peace she had never thought possible. Their journey was far from over, but the first and most difficult battle had been won.
Outside, the morning sun shone brighter than ever, illuminating a path forward—one filled with hope, love, and new beginnings.
