That evening, as the couple sat down to eat dinner, Christine gave a second try at asking Erik if he would like to join her in prayer. He agreed to do so.
"So, how exactly do I do this?"
"It's easy! Just repeat after me."
"Okay."
The two closed their eyes and bowed their heads, and Christine took Erik's hands in hers.
"Dear God, thank You for this day. Thank You for this food You have provided. Please bless it for us. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen."

They both opened their eyes and gazed at each other fondly.
"I love you." Said Christine.
"I love you, too." Responded Erik.
There was a long pause.
".....Can we eat now?" The new Believer asked eagerly.
Christine giggled before replying,
"Of course."
They enjoyed their lemon pepper chicken, and the rest of the night was calm and peaceful.
