End of the World Pt. 3
A/N: Forgive me if there are no spells in this chapter (except for one). It's all about the flow.
For additional info too, I didn't include much characters and squad's exposure in this final battle unless I see them fit. The squads assignment is supposed to have the rule of three:
Forsaken Realm = BB, PO, GPM
Common Realm = CLK, SE, BRK
Noble Realm = CP, AQ (Which, forgive me, won't be mentioned. I'll leave their fates to your interpretation lol.)
Royal Capital = GD
Also, this is the last chapter for this month. I honestly don't know when I'll be publishing the next one since I'm really really busy, and it sucks because I don't like slow updates especially during battle arcs like this, much less the literal CLIMAX of the story. Still, I hope you bear with me and stay with me until the end.

SOLENE COULD NO LONGER feel William's magic, rippling on the ley line. Even the ley line itself was no more. She wanted to talk to him more, ask him about his safety, or the state of the entire kingdom right now, but she knew that he had many other things he should prioritize. Hecairo had just been overrun by the Shades, and she didn't know where she would bring the citizens to safety.
The Clover Kingdom was now standing on the verge of death, and she almost saw it if not for Mira and Langris rescuing her.
"The ley line..." Langris uttered under his breath, looking around him as the tunnel stretched more and more. "Did something happen to Lord Vangeance?"
"I hope not," she said. "I don't feel any surge of death magic, so I suppose he had redirected the magic somewhere else, somewhere where it is needed the most, considering Hecairo is..." beyond saving.
Langris nodded, catching her meaning. Soon, the soil above them cracked open, and their root carriage hoisted them to the surface, settling them in the middle of a forest southeast of Hecairo. There, a hundred more citizens were seeking refuge on the wide clearing, gathering what was left of them. Others looked around for their family members, others tended to each other's wounds, some locked in a trance from the sudden tragedy, and some rushed to reunite with their loved ones who got separated from them, like, for instance, Wren and Theron running towards Solene and Mira to envelope them in a tight embrace.
"My daughters!" Theron exclaimed, letting out a laugh of relief in between words. "I'm glad your together and you made it here safely!" He turned towards Langris, putting a heavy hand on his shoulder. "Thank you for rescuing them, Langris."
"Well," he scratched his nape. "I wouldn't leave Solene in the first place if she didn't push me away."
"And that pushing led to this." She pointed with her lips the crowd. "Thanks to you, there are survivors in Hecairo."
"Some of them are people you saved." He retorted.
"Why are we comparing numbers now?" She sighed.
"Hate to break it to you," Mira interjected, her thumb pointing behind her to the city. "But we Blue Roses were supposed to rescue you, not for you to rescue us."
"And if we didn't drag you all with us, you could've been strolling in the Underworld by now," Langris said. "Seriously, what was the Wizard King thinking? Sending you to your deaths?"
