“My love will echo through the walls of silence and there you will find me present in our absence.”

IT BECAME A RECENT HABIT for a certain doctor to examine a maiden so still and peaceful, that when her chest rose and fell like calm waters; and her face serene and ethereal, it was hard to believe that she was a human, much less a convalescent one. For the doctor, her face was that of a goddess; a woman blessed with eternity.

He realized that he was examining her more intently and more closely this time, jotting down notes as he observed her condition. Then from his peripheral he saw her eyelids flicker followed by the soft movement of her lashes, causing his green eyes to meet her brown ones.

It took him to blink twice before he realized that her eyes were opened, and she was now awake. He looked closely at her face to see that he wasn't hallucinating.

“Boo,” She whispered.

Caught off guard, his first response was to yelp and hide his face behind his clipboard, as if it would obscure him from the eyes of the woman before him.

“M-Miss Solene! You're finally awake?! What are you feeling? Good? Bad? Both? Neither?” He fidgeted all over the place, panicking. “You need to—”

“Pee.”

“What?”

Solene pointed towards the bathroom. “I want to pee.”

“Y-Yes… pee is very important.”

The doctor tried to compose himself as the fiery woman walked to the bathroom. Perhaps it was because he didn't expect, out of all things, that the first word she uttered after being in a coma involved releasing urine.

It was until after she got back to bed did she realize what was going on. Being alone with a weird stranger in the room holding a clipboard, Solene pulled her covers and hid behind it. Now that she got a better look at him, he was a middle-aged man with short light gray hair wearing a pair of rimless glasses and clothings that did not suggest that he was a doctor at all.

“Who are you, where am I, what happened, and what are you doing to me?”

Now the tables suddenly had turned.

The male gave her a reassuring smile before pulling a chair in front of her. “My name’s Owen, Miss Solene. I work as a doctor directly under the Wizard King. You are currently here in the Magic Knights hospital where I tend to you. You see, after the Battle of the Grimstone Tower, you passed out. Your whole body shut down for one month—”
