The Great City of Hecairo Pt. 1

"She wields her trademark weapon, a bow and arrow, stepping into the battlefield with an ethereal blend of grace and ferocity"

ONE MONTH had passed since Solene joined the Golden Dawn. William slowly came out of his shell thanks to her, now eating with his members in the dining hall. This day was just one of those normal days where Solene, Sophia, and Mimosa initiated conversations, Letoile and Yuno throwing in some occasional remarks, Klaus with his serious retorts, and William who was just smiling the whole time.

During this normal breakfast, Marx's image appeared on a hologram in front of their table, using his vast communication magic. Everyone was taken aback by the sudden contact of the Wizard King's attendant, especially this early.

"Captain Vangeance! It's an emergency! We need you right now!"

"Marx, calm down. What is happening?" William dropped his fork, moving closer to talk to him.

Marx inhaled, then roared, "Just this dawn, countless Magic Knights from different squads have been sending emergency signals from the greatest city in the Common Realm, Hecairo. The information is unclear, however, as something might've been blocking communication devices there. But I still gathered intel that bandits have attacked Hecairo, killing about fifty men already."

"Fifty?!" Solene and the others gasped. This is alarming! It's not an attack anymore but a massacre!

Upon hearing the number, William immediately stood up along with his members.

"Those who were with me on the mission at the town of Barlow, you shall come with me to Hecairo right now." He turned to Yuno. "Will you come as well, Yuno?"

"As much as I wanted to come, I believe there is also an emergency back at my village. But I assure you captain, once I'm done, I'll go straight to you right away."

"Very well. I guess we can't help it." He said, locking eyes with Solene before turning to Marx again. "We are going to come immediately. Please tell us the details along the way."

Hurriedly, they set out in their brooms. Klaus and Mimosa were riding his flying steel chariot.

"No matter who they are, they are only bandits. I will make them pay for what they've done." Alecdora said.

"I must warn you, they are not just ordinary bandits. They are very dangerous and violent. They are also quite numerous in number, and because of that, they have already killed women, children, and other Magic Knights that are stationed there." Marx told them.

Solene clenched her fists. How could someone be that evil? Do they even think about the lives they took, or what impact it could give to their loved ones? Were they seriously satisfied with killing people?

She was fueled with anger. She cannot bear to see such tragedy.

"Just in case things go south, contact us immediately." Marx said.

"Thank you, Marx." William flashed him a smile before he disappeared.

Eventually, hundreds of buildings came into sight.
