I'm a soldier, I won't surrender.
Faith is like a fire that never burns to embers.

A/N: Finally! My college entrance exam of suffering has finally ended! I think I did good, ig. Definitely just YOLO-ed the math and science part, but oh well. Now I can write in peace! (Or not?) I will probably be busy coz of school, but rest assured that I will upload every Wednesday and (dun dun dun!) Saturday! Dang, I think I'm itching to finish this story, but no so much as to rush it!

Oh. If you want to be shocked, read Chapter 9 or 11 or all the way back to Chapter 1 (just read the book over and over at this point). Seriously guys, I'm sad that y'all be discarding the Quicksand Dungeon arc when it's the most important arc for me. But oh well, you'll probably be confused in this chapter if you can't remember what happened there.

DEDICATIONS! This is for you, flipptri<3

THE TABLES had turned once more as the battle went on. All just for the sake of retrieving an ancient magic item and stopping the enemy from their destructive plans.

Mimosa's spell became a powerful asset on their side, for she was able to heal her comrades constantly as they fought the Shades. No matter how many times they struck one down, they got up again. No matter how many slashes and wounds the goblin Shades inflict, or how many damages and fear those ogre Shades did, or even if a member got shot by an arrow from a skeleton Shade: it was useless. One could simply pull that arrow and his wound would immediately heal.

Her spell covered the whole battlefield, and from then on she was declared the Angel of Battle. With a determined battle cry they strike again, even though their bodies neared its limit.

Mimosa was no exception.

Her recovery spell was extremely powerful, and yet it still drained a lot of her mana. It didn't take long before she realized that they were now hanging by a thread, held by a faint glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, they would win this battle. They were barely keeping it alive. Heck, they might have died without her.

Sophia had been right. This was a nightmare. This was something she could never forget for the rest of her life, one that would replay in her mind over and over until she begged for it to stop. Guilt slowly consumed her as she watched the dire situation they were in where her comrades had been injured, fatally wounded even, but because of her spell; would heal them quickly just to fight once more.

She wondered if their minds thought of giving up and letting death take over. Perhaps they wanted to die right there, right now. But they couldn't. Because Mimosa was forcing them to be alive and fight death itself.

She was able to heal them physically, yes. But their mental and emotional wounds were beyond her capabilities to heal. No, she could not heal their minds.

It was a battle of endurance. A battle of survival. If they let go or even stop for even a second, only death would be seen by their eyes.

They had no choice but to fight. The Golden Dawn knew it, and so they persevered.

Mimosa glanced at the tower, where the twisting beam of purple hue was still a glowing array in the wistful sky.

And just when she thought the situation couldn't get any worse, she heard the horn blowing again, followed by Yuno's shouts of warning. Oh, that horrible sound. It was deep, rumbling, and almost primal, resonating across the battlefield. Its strikes inflicted the same amount of fear in their hearts just as much as the Shades, and from the sinkholes again were another batch of creatures. Now, if the ogre Shades were huge and towered over the goblin Shades, these trolls were two times bigger than them.
