SOLENE AMBERDAWN's village was under attack. Arandom Village, a small place that resided in the Forsaken Realm of the Clover Kingdom—where the people were treated as the poorest of the poor—the realm of peasants. Her village was recently aided by the two of the Magic Knight Squads: the Crimson Lion Kings and the Silver Eagles after the village got destroyed when the Eye of the Midnight Sun attacked the kingdom. The village went to extreme poverty even more as the royal capital never extended their help to repair the damages. Recently, words had spread around the Forsaken Realm about her village because the bandits who were said to be attacking the village and its visitors were actually the villagers themselves. The captain of the Crimson Lion Kings—Fuegoleon Vermillion—the captain of the Silver Eagles—Nozel Silva—and the Wizard King's attendant—Marx François—went to Arandom village as undercovers, only to learn this revelation. To help the village get back on its feet, the villagers had to steal from traveling mages.

They were only given minimal punishment. However, the neighboring villages despised them from attacking the captains and being bandits-even if the truth was, they had no choice. More so, Solene wasn't even in the village when it all happened!

Solene was out hunting for wild animals so she could sell them in order to feed her family. She wasn't aware of the deviance her community had been doing nor did she approve of it. Still, she understood that her village must be desperate and that they had to resort to that action.

Her village was already suffering, so why did it have to come to this?

"Run! Take the crops! Get the children out of here!" The village head shouted as bandits emerged from the forest, huge boulders being thrown to crush the houses.

"Solene! Get over here!" Solene's father called, grabbing her arm. "Listen closely. The men will try to protect this village and our crops. We shall buy you enough time to leave. So go! Take your younger sister with you!"

"No, father!" She said, "I can fight too! Plus, there's too many of them, you'll never stand a chance!"

"That's why you shouldn't fight! Take our crops and go!" That was her father's last words to her before he ran off to fight the bandits.

"Oh, my! So this is the newly repaired Arandom Village, huh? I heard the Wizard King and the Magic Knight Captains personally helped rebuild this place. I can already see my target! My, what a bountiful harvest!" A large, muscular man, obscured in a black cloak, stepped with other bandits to the center of the village.

Solene hid behind a house as the bandits faced the men of their village, including her father. She felt her knees shaking from the ominous mana coming from that muscular man. He must be the leader. He must be a big deal!

"You will never take our resources! We will stand strong!" The village head cried, as the other men echoed his cry.

Everyone opened their grimoires, each casting their own different spells, left and right, up and down, magics emerged. Mana filled the whole village and blinding light flashed upon Solene's eyes as her environment became blurry because of the village's combined attack.
