George's POV

I stopped trying to breathe properly after a while.

Not because I didn't need to.

But because it didn't matter here.

The space I was in didn't feel like the Nether.

It didn't feel like the End.

It didn't feel like anything I knew how to name.

Just... white.

Not bright.

Not empty.

Just endless in a way that made distance hard to understand.

And somewhere beyond it—

them.

I can see them.

That's the worst part.

I can always see them.

At first I thought it was a glitch.

That I'd respawn.

That I'd wake up in the swamp cave again and Sapnap would be yelling and Dream would be pretending he wasn't panicking.

But the longer I stayed here, the more I understood:

I wasn't coming back the normal way.

Whatever this was... it wasn't death.

Not exactly.

It was observation.

Being stuck behind glass no one else could see.

I watched them from above like I was standing on something invisible.

Dream leading.

Sapnap talking too much like usual.

Y/N walking slightly behind them, holding the bucket like she already knew what it meant.

Obsidian.

Nether.

Next step.

I felt something twist in my chest watching her.

She fit in now.

Not awkwardly.

Not like she was trying to survive a system she didn't understand.

She understood it.

Better than she should.

Dream said something and she looked at him like she was listening properly now.

Not just reacting.

Listening.

Sapnap bumped her shoulder and she didn't even flinch anymore.

She just shoved him back slightly.

Like it was normal.

Like it belonged there.

It shouldn't have made me feel anything.

But it did.

But I knew that voice.
