Sapnap's POV

I woke up before Y/N did.

Which almost never happened anymore.

Usually she was the first one awake.

Already organizing supplies or checking everyone's gear before the rest of us had fully opened our eyes.

But right now?

She was asleep against my shoulder.

And I couldn't move.

Not because I physically couldn't.

Because I was pretty sure if I moved too fast, I'd ruin whatever this was.

The campfire had burned low during the night, leaving the shelter washed in soft orange light from the lava outside.

George was snoring loud enough to qualify as a hostile mob.

Dream was asleep near the wall with one arm over his eyes.

And Y/N—

Y/N was still leaning against me.

One of her hands loosely curled in the fabric of my sleeve like she'd grabbed onto it sometime during the night without realizing.

My brain completely stopped working.

Fantastic.

I stared at the ceiling for a solid thirty seconds trying to remember how breathing worked.

Because this was definitely dangerous.

Not the Nether.

Not the Bastion challenge.

This.

This was dangerous.

Y/N shifted slightly in her sleep.

Her head slipped a little farther against my shoulder.

I froze immediately.

Every single thought left my body.

Then George snorted awake.

His eyes opened halfway.

He looked directly at us.

Then slowly grinned.

Oh no.

No no no.

Absolutely not.

I pointed at him threateningly before he could speak.

"Don't."

George's grin widened.

"I didn't even say anything."

"You were about to."

"Was not."

"You literally have the face."

"What face?"

"The face you make before ruining my life."

Y/N stirred slightly beside me.

Both of us froze.

George immediately covered his mouth to stop himself from laughing.

Traitor.

Complete traitor.

Dream groaned from across the shelter without opening his eyes.

"If either of you wake me up fully, I'm throwing someone into lava."

George whispered dramatically, "He means Sapnap."
