George's POV

Cold air brushed against my face.

At first, I thought my air conditioning had finally given up and decided to freeze me to death.

Then I realized I wasn't in my room anymore.

My eyes snapped open.

Trees.

Everywhere.

Dark oak trunks towered above me, their leaves blocking out most of the sunlight overhead. Shadows stretched across the forest floor, making the entire place feel darker than it should have been.

I sat up immediately.

"What?"

The words came out louder than I intended.

I turned in a slow circle.

No bed.

No desk.

No monitors.

No room.

Just trees.

An endless amount of trees.

"...No."

I stood up quickly.

"This isn't funny."

The forest remained silent.

The only response was the rustling of leaves overhead.

I rubbed my eyes.

Once.

Twice.

The world stayed exactly the same.

Blocky.

Square.

Pixelated.

My stomach dropped.

Because I recognized it instantly.

There was no way I wouldn't.

Minecraft.

Everything looked exactly like Minecraft.

The trees.

The grass.

The terrain.

Even the clouds looked like giant white rectangles floating across the sky.

I stared at a nearby tree for several seconds.

Then pointed at it.

"No."

The tree didn't care.

It just continued existing.

I let out a nervous laugh.

"This has got to be a dream."

A really weird dream.

A really detailed dream.

But definitely a dream.

Probably.

Hopefully.

I started walking.

Mostly because standing still felt like the beginning of a horror movie.

The forest eventually began to thin, allowing more sunlight through the leaves.

A clearing appeared ahead.

I immediately cupped my hands around my mouth.

"HELLO?"
