George's POV

Everything hurt.

Then suddenly—

Nothing did.

The pain disappeared so quickly it almost made me dizzy.

One second I was lying on the cave floor.

The next—

I was standing.

I blinked.

Confused.

The cave was gone.

The witch was gone.

Dream.

Nick.

Y/N.

Gone.

Instead, I stood in the middle of a massive empty field stretching farther than I could see.

The sky wasn't blue.

It wasn't black either.

It was white.

Just... white.

Like somebody forgot to finish rendering it.

"What?"

My voice echoed.

No answer.

I looked down.

My armor was gone.

My sword was gone.

Even my watch had disappeared.

"What?"

I said again.

Louder this time.

The memories came rushing back.

The cave.

The creeper.

Y/N.

The explosion.

The realization hit me like a train.

"No."

My chest tightened.

"No, no, no."

I spun in a circle.

Looking for something.

Anything.

A portal.

A respawn point.

Dream playing some stupid prank.

Anything.

But there was nothing.

Just endless white.

Then I heard footsteps.

Slow.

Calm.

Approaching from behind.

I whipped around.

A familiar figure walked toward me.

Black hoodie.

Red accents.

Small horns.

A smile that somehow looked relieved and sad at the same time.

"George."

I stared.

The face felt familiar.

Really familiar.
