Y/N's POV

The obsidian sat in two neat stacks on the floor.

Like it had been waiting for us.

Like the world had quietly decided we were finally ready.

Nobody spoke for a while.

Dream stood closest to it, arms crossed, staring at the pieces like they might disappear if he blinked too hard.

George was pacing.

Not fast.

Not panicked.

Just restless.

Like standing still meant accepting what came next.

"I still think it's weird," he said finally. "That it just... stayed in little blocks."

Sapnap leaned back in his chair.

"You say that like Minecraft hasn't always been weird."

"Yeah," George shot back. "But this is selectively weird."

That made Dream exhale something close to a laugh.

"Everything in this world is selectively weird."

I crouched down beside the obsidian.

Ran my fingers over the dark surface.

Cold.

Heavy.

Real.

"We're building it," I said quietly.

That made everything stop for half a second.

George looked at me.

Dream looked at me.

Sapnap stopped mid-motion.

I stood back up.

"It's the next step," I continued. "Whatever's waiting, it's already pushing us there. We don't get to stall forever."

George frowned slightly.

"That sounded a lot like a motivational speech."

"It wasn't supposed to."

Sapnap grinned. "It kind of worked though."

Dream finally nodded once.

"Then we build it."

We worked fast.

Not rushed.

Just... certain.

Like we all wanted the moment to happen before anyone could change their mind.

Sapnap placed most of the blocks.

Dream corrected angles without saying much.

George counted under his breath like he didn't trust himself to stop if he lost track.

I lit the flint and steel.

For a second, nothing happened.

Just silence.

Then—

Purple.

Swirling.

Alive.

The Nether portal stood in front of us like it had always been there.

Like it had been waiting for us to notice it.

No one moved closer immediately.

Sapnap broke the silence first.

"So," he said. "We just... jump into the purple murder doorway?"
