Y/N's POV

The house didn't feel small anymore.

For the first time in a long time, it felt loud.

Not chaotic loud.

Not stressful loud.

Just... alive.

George was sitting at the table like he'd never left it.

Arguing with Sapnap about something completely meaningless again, something about whether "respawn logic" counted as cheating in survival.

Dream stood near the window, arms crossed, watching all of it with that quiet expression he got when he wasn't sure if he was allowed to relax yet.

And me—

I just stood there for a second too long.

Because I was trying to convince myself it was real.

George was real.

Not a memory.

Not a loss we were still carrying around like a weight.

Here.

Alive.

Talking.

Breathing.

Sapnap noticed me staring first.

"What?" he asked. "Do I have dirt on my face or something?"

"No," I said quickly.

George looked over then, softer.

"You're doing that thing," he said.

"What thing?"

"Like you're checking if I'm still a ghost."

That made my chest tighten immediately.

I hated how accurate that was.

I shook my head. "I'm not—"

But I stopped.

Because I didn't know how to finish that sentence honestly.

George didn't push it.

Instead, he just smiled a little.

"Yeah," he said quietly. "Me too sometimes."

That hit worse than anything else.

Dream cleared his throat from across the room.

"Okay," he said. "We're not doing emotional breakdown hour immediately."

Sapnap pointed at him.

"You say that like it's scheduled later."

"It is," Dream replied.

That actually made me laugh.

Just a little.

But it helped.
