Y/N's POV

For the first time in what felt like forever, nobody woke up because of a challenge.

No alarms.

No monsters.

No watches lighting up in the middle of the night.

Just morning.

Actual morning.

I opened my eyes to the familiar stone ceiling of the Nether camp and immediately heard George talking.

"...and then Bad looks at me and goes, 'George, that's literally not how death works.'"

Sapnap's laughter echoed from somewhere nearby.

Dream groaned.

"Why are you awake already?"

"I died, Dream. Sleeping is a privilege."

"You slept for twelve hours."

"I was catching up."

I smiled before I was even fully awake.

That was new.

A few weeks ago waking up had meant panic.

Confusion.

Fear.

Now it meant listening to George argue with people before breakfast.

Progress.

The camp felt lighter.

George being back changed everything.

Not all at once.

Not dramatically.

Just... steadily.

Like a missing piece had finally been put back where it belonged.

The four of us spent most of the morning doing absolutely nothing important.

Repairing armor.

Organizing supplies.

Cooking food.

The kind of tasks that normally would've felt boring.

Instead it felt nice.

Comfortable.

Safe.

Sapnap spent nearly twenty minutes trying to teach George how to balance on the fence posts around camp.

George immediately fell into a lava-proof trench.

Twice.

Dream refused to help.

I laughed so hard my stomach hurt.

"You're all terrible friends."

"We rescued you from death."

"That doesn't mean anything."

"It means everything."

George considered that.

"Okay, fair."

So naturally we ignored him.

For approximately ten minutes.

Then he assigned jobs.
