Y/n's POV

"Come on... come on..."

My fingers tightened around the mouse as I circled the End island, eyes locked onto the massive black dragon soaring overhead.

The Ender Dragon let out a shrill screech before diving toward me.

I immediately sidestepped, raising my diamond sword.

One hit.

Two hits.

Three.

The dragon's health bar dropped lower and lower.

The chat on my second monitor exploded with messages.

YOU GOT THIS

NEW PB INCOMING

DON'T CHOKE

"Guys, I am not going to choke," I laughed, trying to sound confident even though my heart was beating fast enough to burst out of my chest.

The dragon swooped down toward the portal one final time.

I sprinted forward.

Jumped.

And swung.

The achievement notification flashed across my screen.

Free the End

For a moment, I just stared.

Then I slammed my hand down on the timer.

"YES!"

I jumped out of my chair so quickly I nearly knocked it over.

"Twenty-four minutes and forty-three seconds!"

My grin stretched across my face as I leaned closer to the monitor.

"That is almost a new personal record!"

Messages flew by so quickly I could barely read them.

Even after streaming for over a year, moments like this never got old.

I wasn't some huge creator.

Not even close.

Twenty-one thousand followers wasn't exactly internet-famous.

But it was enough.

Enough people cared.

Enough people showed up.

Enough people believed in me.

And honestly?

That still felt a little unreal.

I laughed as chat continued celebrating.

"Alright, alright. Before all of you convince me to do another run and completely destroy my sleep schedule, I'm ending stream."

A wave of disappointed messages appeared immediately.

"Don't give me that," I teased. "Half of you should already be asleep."

More messages.

More complaints.

A small smile tugged at my lips.

"Thank you for hanging out with me tonight. I hope you enjoyed watching me bully a dragon."

The chat immediately began arguing about who was bullying who.

I rolled my eyes.

"Goodnight, everyoneeeee."

With one final wave, I ended the stream.

The room instantly fell silent.

No chat.

No game sounds.

No constant stream of notifications.

Just me.

I stretched my arms above my head until my shoulders popped.

"Ow."

Glancing at my phone, I nearly dropped it.

2:57 AM.

"Oh no."

I had class in a few hours.

Future me was going to be furious.

Dragging myself out of my chair, I headed toward the bathroom and started getting ready for bed.

The apartment was quiet.

Almost eerily so after spending hours talking to hundreds of people.

I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and changed into pajamas while absentmindedly scrolling through YouTube.

One thumbnail caught my attention.

A smiling stick figure.

A green background.

A title involving Minecraft.

The creator's name was simple.

Dream.

"Huh."

I clicked on it.

At first I only meant to watch a minute or two.

Then another minute passed.

Then another.

Then somehow I was completely invested.

The guy was actually entertaining.

Funny.

A little chaotic.

And surprisingly good at the game.

By the time I glanced at the clock again, I groaned.

"Why am I like this?"

The video only had a few minutes left.

I could finish it.

Then sleep.

Definitely sleep.

Absolutely.

No more distractions.

I climbed into bed and pulled the blankets up to my chin while the video continued playing quietly from my phone.

The familiar sounds of Minecraft filled the room.

My eyes grew heavier.

And heavier.

The last thing I remember hearing was Dream laughing about something before darkness slowly pulled me under.

I never saw the video end.

And if I had known what would happen when I woke up...

I probably wouldn't have fallen asleep so easily.
