Justin's P.O.V
I chased Kate into a room.
"No." She said standing there. She stood still for a moment her face turning sheet white and then started freaking out.
"Kate?!" I said worriedly. She frantically searched the room. She threw open a cupboard and pulled all the bed sheets out.
"No." She said again, then ran out of the room. I could hear all my beliebers screaming as they saw me, and the security guards yelling at them to get back. But I was only really interested in Kate.
"Where is the girl in room 13?" She demanded.
"I can't give out information on a patient unless you have a relation to them. But room 13 is currently vacant." The nurse stated.
"Please I need to know! Her name is Hope!" She begged. Who's Hope?
"I'm sorry." The nurse said. Kate nodded and then ran back into the room. She rummaged through a cupboard repeatedly saying.
"No."
"Kate who's Hope? And your not going to find her in a cupboard." I said gently pulling her away from the cupboard. She looked up at me and then burst out into tears. She fell to the ground sobbing profusely. It broke my heart to see her crying again.
"It's okay." I said.
"I just want to die!" She sobbed curling up into a ball. I knew this kind of pain. The kind where you feel as though you've lost everything. That your world is falling apart and no matter how hard you try to hold it together, it slips through your fingers. And then you feel lost, broken, useless. As though you'll never be happy again. As though your falling into a dark abyss of your own failure and the only thing you want is to die and disappear.
I wrapped my arms around her as she sobbed.
"What's wrong?" I asked, I hated that she felt like this.
"I have made such a mess out of my life! I don't deserve to be alive." She yelled.
"I forgive you Kate. You don't have to feel bad about anything." I said.
"No you don't understand!"
"Whatever's wrong we can fix it." I replied.
"We can't fix this. I killed a little innocent girl!" She wailed covering her face with her hands. What the heck?
"What do you mean?" I asked pulling away. Jazmyn kept flashing in my mind.
"It's okay! You can leave! I'm worthless! I know." She yelled trying to control her crying.
"I'm not going to leave you Kate. But you need to explain all this to me." I said pulling her hands away from her face. She nodded and then started talking.
"When I robbed the gas station. I knocked over a rack and it fell on a little girl. A nurse told me littles girl's name is hope, and that someone knocked a rack down and it hit her on her head and she went into a coma. I didn't know until you went to the hospital. I was sent a text that had the room number and floor. But she's not here anymore and that must mean she's dead!" She explained and started crying harder when she said dead. There was something really weird about this whole thing. Like how come that nurse told Kate everything but the other nurse didn't say anything.
"But that doesn't mean she's dead, she could've gotten out of the coma. And do you think maybe the nurse lied. Because it weird that she told you everything about the girl, and the other nurse wouldn't tell you anything."
"You mean she lied?" Kate asked.
"Yeah, she was probably bribed or something by the person who was blackmailing you."
"You mean I might have nothing to do with that little girl." She said hopefully.
"Yes, I'll try and get some information on her and in the meantime, you don't have to worry about anything." I said helping her up off the ground.
"Thank you." She said hugging me.
"You don't need to thank me." I replied hugging her.
"But I do, you saved me Justin. You showed me a whole new world filled with happiness and love. Something that was so hard for me to have. And I just will never be able to thank you enough for being so kind to me." She said.
"I will do anything for you, because I love you."
