Chapter 8

I open my eyes and see Max's head looming over me. I let out a scream and scramble away.

"Woah! Sorry I didn't mean to alarm you!" He apologizes.

"What are you doing here?" I ask defensively.

"I heard you screaming and when I came over here you were on the ground."

"Oh..." I must've been talking in my sleep. "Well thanks. I'm gonna go now." I say getting up.

"Uh ok." He replies. Oh my goodness what all did he hear?! I really hope he just leaves me alone. I sprint back to village and find Anna. We spend the rest of the day chatting about random stuff. I just want to push Max out of my head. I love Justin and that's final.

"Anya, what's going on?" I ask running up to her. Everyone was running around looking in Huts, people were yelling and arguing with each other. It was as though all the peace had just vanished.

"A little girl has gone missing." Anya replies.

"Did she run away? Or did someone kidnap her?" I ask.

"We think she was kidnapped." Anya replies sending chills down my spine. Memories of when I was kidnapped flood back into my mind. Deep breaths Kate. You'll be fine.

"Is there any way I can help?" I ask.

"Find the little girl."

"I uhh I... Uhhh" I mumble. Trying to calm myself down. I'm not gonna get kidnapped. I'll be fine. It's okay Kate it's okay. I collapse on the ground and my vision gets blurry. I gasp for air desperately trying to breathe.

"Kate! Kate!" Anya yells shaking me. I squeeze my eyes shut and think of Justin. Slowly my breathing gets slower and my eyesight clears.

"Are you okay?" Anya asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry it was just a panic attack." I say standing up.

"Maybe you should get some rest." Anya says. I nod my head and then make my way back to my hut. I lay on my bed and eventually I fall asleep.

"Kate....." I open my eyes squinting to see in the darkness. "Kate..."

"Justin!" I yell sitting up.

"Shhhh...." He says putting his hand over my mouth. I nod and he removes my hand.

"Am I dreaming?"

"I love you Kate." He says.

"Justin am I dreaming? Are you really here? I can't do this anymore Justin! I'm going crazy!! Is this really you? Answer me!!" I beg.

"If your dreaming would what I say make a difference." He says hugging me. I hug him back realizing how true his words are. I keep waiting for him to disappear but be doesn't.

"How did you find me?" I ask.

"Come with me." He says leading me out of the hut. I follow him to the beach. We sit down and watch the waves crash against the shore. Justin wraps his arms around me and leans down and kisses me. It feels so real, but I can't torture myself again. I can't make myself believe that this real.

"Whatever happens Kate, remember, I will always love you." He says then kisses me again.

"I will always love you too Justin." I say then kiss him. We just sit there on the beach in each others arms. I feel Justin's body shudder as he starts crying.

"What's wrong?" I ask pulling away to look at his face. In the dim moonlight I can see bruises littering his face. His lip is cut and swollen. "What happened to you?" I ask reaching my hand up to touch his face.

"I'm so sorry." He whispers. "I'm so sorry Kate." He apologizes griping my hand. I wipe the tears from his eyes and kiss him.

"You don't have to apologize for anything Justin. I love you. You haven't done anything wrong." I reply hugging him.

"I love you so much." He whispers hugging me. He stands up and walks me back to my hut.

"Justin don't go." I beg as he turns to leave.

"I will always find you Kate. I will always love you. And I will come back for you." He says then reaches into his pocket and pulls out my ring.

"How did you find it?" I gasp. He smiles and then kneels down.

"Will you marry me Kate?" He asks making my heart burst with joy. I look into his beautiful brown eyes and I know my answer.

"Yes!" I exclaim happy tears falling from my eyes. He stands up and envelopes me in a hug.

"I was worried you were gonna say no."

"I would never say no to you." I reply then kiss him. He smiles then it fades away.

"I have to go now, but I will come back for you, I promise." He says.

"Don't leave me Justin." I plead grabbing his hand. I can see the pain in his eyes over leaving me and I let go.

"I will come back for you." He promises. He kisses me one last time and then leaves.

"I love you Justin." I whisper after his retreating figure.
