Chapter 25

Justin's P.O.V

After talking with Alex and Summer for a very long time. I did find out some interesting information. Summer and Alex are half siblings. They only share the same Dad. Kate's Dad divorced Alex's mom and married Summers mom. Unfortunately Summers mom was very sick and she died. I wanted to ask what she died from. But Summer looked like she was about to burst into tears just saying that her mom was dead. I felt really bad for her. But there wasn't much I could do.

"Kate, we're going to Hawaii!" I exclaim.

"Why are we going to Hawaii?" Kate asks setting down the glamour magazine she's reading.

"I know you've been wanting to go forever. So I just booked the tickets and we're going!"

"That's awesome!" Kate exclaims hugging me.

"We're going go Hawaii!!!" I yell lifting her up off the ground. Kate laughs and kisses me.

"When do we leave?"

"One week!" I reply.

"We're gonna be in Hawaii in one week!" Kate exclaims and kisses me.

"But, I have to go the studio right now." I say getting up.

"Can I come?" she asks.

"You really want to come?" I ask for clarification.

"I mean if it's okay." She replies.

"I would love to take you to the studio!" I exclaim and kiss her. I can feel her smiling and it warms my heart.

Once we arrive at the studio I introduce Kate to some of the people there. I head into the recording and start singing. After a couple verses I look up at Kate and it looks as though she's in pain. Am I doing that bad? I start to belt out the lyrics even harder. But when I look at Kate I see tears in her eyes and I know this isn't about me singing. Her mouth opens but I can't hear what she's saying and then she collapses on the ground. I rush out of the recording booth and kneel beside Kate gathering her up in my arms.

"Is someone calling an ambulance?" I ask yelling.

"I'm calling right now." Scooter says kneeling down beside Kate. He leans his face down over her lips. "She's not breathing!" Scooter yells.

"I know CPR!" I shout. I learned it after Kate collapsed at the funeral. I start to press on her chest and breathe air into her mouth. It feels like years have gone by and the ambulance still isn't here. I continue the CPR and finally the paramedics arrive. I watch in horror as a paramedic uses an AED to resuscitate Kate. Nothing seems to be happening and I feel like I'm falling. Because if Kate dies right here right now. I don't know what I would do. I can't I can't- I let out a gasp as Kate's eyes flutter open. She looks up at me and let's out the faintest smile.

"We need to get her to the hospital." The paramedic says and another paramedic helps him get Kate on the stretcher. They let me on the ambulance with them and I hold Kate's hand the whole way to the hospital.

Once we get to the hospital I have to wait in the waiting area while the doctors run a series's of tests on Kate. I told them that I didn't care how much it cost. I just wanted to know what was wrong with her.

"Mr. Bieber, you can come see Kate now." A nurse says and leads me to Kate's room. I walk in and see Kate asleep in the bed. Her brown hair is sprawled across the pillow and even though she's asleep her face looks tired. But still, beautiful. I sit on the edge of the bed and hold Kate's hand. She opens her eyes and smiles when they land on me.
