Chapter 2:5: The City Beyond Limits - Diane Montgomery

"Ugh!” Diane exclaimed, as she jumped from the window. She landed on the ground smoothly. Her cloak was being ripped apart, so she took it all off.

"There she is! Do not let her get away!” a group of henchmen exclaimed, while they were loading their guns.

She ran as fast as she could, while she was dodging their shots, until she came out from a dead end. She ran up the fence and catapulted herself to a group of henchmen, arming her katana.

“Ssssslllllaaaaassssshhhhh!!!!!”

There went a slice of their stupid heads! That decapitated them!

Suddenly, there was a sound of a gunshot. Snipers!

She ran back and forth, while she was loading her grenade. She jumped on a truck, catapulting herself right to the guard tower and tossing the grenade.

"Boom!” what an explosion that was heard. After that, she landed onto the ground.

She walked past the dead guards, thinking that it was all over. Suddenly. . .

"Oh! What is that thing?!"

She dropped down from where she’s standing at. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing! A freakishly, huge monster had appeared from nowhere with a huge, pointed axe!

"You have got to be kidding me", she said, while she was holding her katana.

"Rrrrroooooaaaaarrrrr!!!!!” the monster growled at her. Then, there went a fight.

Diane swiftly jumped on its big shoulders, and started slashing it with her katana, but it was also very quick. It mauled her with its axe and she dodged it. She cartwheeled right at its back, and started slashing it. All she could hear was its growls of pain.

Thinking that it’s down, she slid under its huge body, and slashed it. Then, she got up as she twisted her legs.

She suspected that green slime oozed out from its body. That was very disgusting. Any minute now. . .

"Rrrrroooooaaaaarrrrr!!!!!” the monster growled. It’s not yet over.

Looking at its stance, it was completely battered. Finally, Diane still got a last grenade to blow it up.

"Goodbye, Halford", she said, as she cocked the grenade. She put it inside its overall, and jumped over the fence.

"Boom!” It was over.

She ran again past the shrubs and there she saw a car approaching. It cautiously stopped at her front.

"Come on Diane! Get in!” the driver said. It’s Brock Ashfield, her comrade.

She got in his car, and safely escaped from Halford Inc.

"Well, well, well. If it was not for me, you would never get this far", Brock said, while he was winking at her.

"I get it. You want some appreciation?” Diane asked him teasingly, while smiling.

"Not anymore. It is just that you are still alive, and that is all the appreciation I need", Brock replied, while he was smiling.
