"Nice interiors. When did you buy this car?" I asked them, while I was touching the dashboard.

"We bought this just a year ago. So, what should we call you?" the woman asked me back.

"Call me Jacob and you are?"

"Clarisse, Clarisse Bradford. This is Harry, my bodyguard."

"Bodyguard, huh?"

"By the way, have you watched my concert two years ago? It’s at the Flintmore Park. It was on 22nd of September, nine in the evening? That was free."

"Oh, you’re a singer? I’m sorry. It’s not that I’m not your fan. It’s just that I patrol here. It’s my everyday-duty."

"Oh, it’s okay."

"So, what brings you to this place? It’s not safe here for you anymore."

"I would be having my concert at the theater two weeks ago. Unfortunately, it was postponed due to the infection. I wonder what truly happened here."

"Long story, Ms. Bradford."

"Just call me Clarisse. There’s no time for royalty now."

I just smiled at her. It looked like that I had already made new friends with a diva and his bodyguard.

After several minutes . . .

"By the way, where are we going?" I asked.

"To my hotel. We need to lay low for a while", she replied.

"Wow. Royalty still exists. Now I know."

"Nice pipes, cop. Do you even have a home?” Harry asked.

"Yes, I had."

"You had?"

"My home is not what it was before."

"Oh, okay. Well, I hate to say this, but you have a home now", Clarisse said.

"That’s okay, too. I don’t hate it, but I love it. Thank you."

"No need for that, cop. You found us."

"It’s Jacob, Harry."

"My apologies. I’m just not getting tired of calling you that."

"That’s okay. I’m even used up."

"Haha! Nice pipes again. Wait. Here we are now."

He parked the car by the pavement, in front of a huge, 22-storey building.

"Wow! Is this your hotel?!” I amazingly asked.

"Yes. You’re looking at it", she replied.

Suddenly, as we walked by the door, we felt huge, earthly footsteps.

"What’s that? Earthquake?" Clarisse asked.

"I don’t know. Maybe it is", Harry replied.

"No, it’s not. It’s here again", I whispered.

"What? I don’t know what you’re talking about."

"Get in the building, now!"

"What’s going on? Tell us!"

"Just go! Let’s go inside first!"

We swiftly barged inside, without knowing that the monster was hiding behind the other ruins, closer to our location.
