I stayed here at Rushford Hospital to monitor the patients in confinement. Sadly, four other people died instantly. I thought of what action I would plan to stop these patients from dying.
"Officer, I need to have a word with you", Ashyra said, as she approached me.
"What is it?” I asked her.
"We have to transfer the deceased patients in the autopsy room. They crowd the whole hospital, and they might infect the others."
"Good idea. Let’s do it. Let’s start from the first floor."
We descended the stairwell and passed the hallway. Suddenly, everything was going nuts.
"Ashyra! Our patient is coming to life!” a doctor exclaimed in surprise.
"What? Are you serious?” Ashyra surprisingly asked.
"Come here! See this for yourself!"
We hurried to a ward, and the doctor’s right. A patient rose from his deep sleep.
"Doctor, I think, he’s been sleeping all the time, and then he woke up", I doubted.
"No Officer! I pronounced him dead just this morning. He ceased breathing. Look! His ECG doesn’t respond anymore", the doctor exclaimed, as he pointed out the ECG monitor.
"He’s not kidding, Officer", Ashyra told me.
"Oh no! Doc! Look out!” I exclaimed.
Suddenly, the patient had bitten the doctor on his neck. Blood began to squirt and splash everywhere inside the room.
"Ahh! He bit me! Ahh!” the doctor exclaimed in pain.
"Ashyra, upstairs! Quick!” I told her.
When we went out of the ward and closed its door, everything went insane. All the patients began to misbehave. Various screams, moans and lots of unbearable noises were heard in a mixed-up atmosphere.
"Ahh!” screamed by the visitors, as they were bitten and eaten by the patients.
"Oh my God!” I exclaimed in terror.
Blood splashed everywhere along the hallway. The patients were already out of control. We had to evacuate the building, before we would turn ourselves to a feast!
"Come on Ashyra! We have to block the stairwell! Help me push that vending machine", I suggested.
As we ended up in the second floor, we capsized the vending machine down, and pushed it along the stairs.
"Ashyra, what is going on down there?” Hunnigan asked.
"Doctor Rick’s dead! Everyone’s going crazy now! We shouldn’t go down there! Everyone’s murdering each other! Oh! I don’t want to die here!” Ashyra exclaimed, as she busted into tears.
"Ladies, we have an insane situation down there. We need to evacuate this building right away, before we get eaten too", I told them.
"Officer, I’m already confused. What in the name of hell is going on down there?!” Debbie asked.
"I don’t know what’s going on down there. They’re slaughtering each other. Please, you have to cooperate with me, ladies. You don’t have to spend your graveyard shifts here anymore because all of them are already dead. Is that clear?” I said and asked.
They all just nodded. They were trying to calm themselves down, so that they wouldn’t freak out. I started to contact Bob right away.
". . . Bob! You need to pick this up right now!” I shouted in confusion of what was going on. I was starting to freak out.
". . . Hey Jay! Calm down. What is up with you?” Bob asked me.
". . . I have no time for jokes now Bob! Listen to me very carefully! Everything’s going crazy here in the hospital right now! Try to pick us up here!"
". . . Okay, okay Jay. Calm yourself!"
". . . You won’t believe of what’s happening right now here, Bob! Every dead patient here comes to life! You have to pick us up right here and now! I still got three survivors here!"
". . . Jay, hold all your fantasies, because we aren’t in a scary fairytale of children who are born to be sadistic and masochistic!"
". . . I’m not kidding Bob! Hurry up because those things aren’t patient enough!"
". . . Okay Jay, I’m going in! Just hang in there!"
". . . One more thing Bob: borrow me some guns at the RPD now and don’t you forget to lock and load, and wear your vest!"
". . . Okay Jay, I read you. ETA is 30 minutes!"
At last, help was coming!
"Don’t worry ladies. Help is on the way. We’ll make it out here alive. I need you to stick with me, and no wandering around. You got it?” I asked them.
"Yes Officer!” they replied.
"Okay, here’s the deal: you must learn how to fight them. In any minute, they can grab and bite you, so don’t let it happen. Arm yourselves with any sharp object and be careful to use it."
The nurses hurried to specific locations and corners to find anything necessary, while I was watching the stairwell if someone would come near.
"I have found a scalpel!” Ashyra said.
"I have a Deaver Retractor", Hunnigan said.
"Maybe this will kill them", Debbie said, as she found a fire axe next to the fire extinguisher.
"Hey, don’t use that. It’s pretty heavy for you. Give me that, and this is yours", I told Debbie, as I traded her with a Bladder Retractor.
Suddenly, a huge growl could be heard at the stairwell.
"Okay, they’re coming. Stay at my back and don’t let go", I said.
We lined up along the hallway, and silently walked past the empty cubicles, directing to the stairwell.
"Wait, I have an idea", I said.
I took the fire extinguisher from the corner.
"Follow me quick!” I exclaimed.
As we ended up at the stairs, I descended first. I saw that the hallway was completely painted with blood, and littered with dead bodies. I saw also some dead patients wandering around.
"Hey! You forgot something to eat! Try this!” I exclaimed.
The dead were being alarmed. As they ran towards me, I loaded the fire extinguisher and tossed it in the middle of the hallway. Its hose swayed with dry gases, enough to distract the dead.
"Ladies, go!"
The nurses ran along the hallway, making their way out of the hospital. I secondly ran after them. Unfortunately, I tripped myself over a dead body that I didn’t see in my way because of the gas.
I crawled my way to make it outside. Suddenly, a dead patient came to attack me!
"Eat this!” I exclaimed, as I chopped its head with an axe.
"Jay, I’m already here! Holy! You’ve got to be kidding me Jay!"
It’s Bob! And he was surprisingly freaked out of what the hospital had become.
"Bob! Pull me out!” I said.
“Bang!”
A gunshot was heard. Bob shot down the dead, and helped me escape.
"Get in the car Jay!” he said.
The dead patients and visitors were making their escape!
"Step on it Bob!” I exclaimed.
Finally, we got out of the hospital in good shape! What a relief!
