"Surprised again? You should be."
It was Chris Arkline. I thought that he was already dead. How did he find out about me?
"I’m sorry. What’s that? Oh, you’re probably wondering why I’m here."
"Well, thanks for the greeting, Chris. It’s just not wonderful to finish this whole end-of-the-world thing", I said.
"You’re walking away with nothing, Styles. Consider this as a fact that I’m truly the last man standing, and not you."
"Oh, I feel enlightened. Tell me the reason why you’re still here."
"Well, I’m just doing my job. You see Styles, I’m the best supervisor there is!"
"What’s that all about, Chris?"
"I’ve been watching your status Styles, since the day that you had a childish time wandering around the airport."
"Don’t play stupidity with me Chris. You were not at the airport."
"Oh, weren't I? Allow me to refresh your memory."
Suddenly, the whole hotel shook itself, emerging the monster visibly on the floor that we were standing at.
"Rrrrroooooaaaaarrrrr!!!!!"
"You see Styles; everything can happen if you’re not paying attention to your surroundings."
"Chris, there’s no time for that now. Help me kill this thing!"
"Beast, let me handle this!"
He shouted at the monster, and then, it followed him. What the heck was happening?!
"What the heck is going on, Chris?!"
"The Beast is just doing its job following you, Styles. What do you think is the worst thing that it can commit into your life?"
"Well actually, getting me killed is one of it. Now tell me what is going on!"
"It’s bearing a transmitter, which means wherever it goes, I know it in every single time. Do you still remember the fact that I was in the tunnel with you? The same time also that The Beast was there."
"I knew it! You’re working with Richard, aren't you?"
"Is that a guess? If it is, then you’re not wrong."
"You’re the dirtiest traitor I’ve ever known, Chris! You should pay for all of this!"
"Actually Styles, you’re the one who’s going to pay me. After all, you already knew the truth. I want you dead."
He started to point his gun at me, and then, he cocked it. Luckily, I remembered this second that I still had the last pack of meat, and then, I had two flashbang grenades.
"Any last words, Styles?" he asked.
"Wait a minute. I’ll just kneel here to get this moment done", I replied, while I was kneeling.
"Haha! You’re a man of a thousand jokes! That’s why I like you."
"Rrrrroooooaaaaarrrrr!!!!!" the monster growled, like it also laughed at me.
"Rrrrroooooaaaaarrrrr!!!!!" another growl was being sounded. It looked like a horde was coming this way!
"Did you hear that, Styles? You’ll be losing everything you have now, especially your existence! Now, are you ready? Because, I don’t want you to be munched down by the infected to your pathetic bones! Let’s get this thing done now!"
Eventually, I stood up from my kneeling.
"You know what? I’m getting tired of this nuisance! Pull the trigger now!" I shouted at him.
I could hear loud stampedes of footsteps coming this way.
"Shoot me! Do it!" I shouted again.
Chris finally pulled the trigger, and then, I dodged it to get to the side by throwing a flashbang grenade to blind them both. Instead of me getting shot, the monster had it coming.
“Bang, bang . . . !”
"Chris! Enough of your silly words! Munch on this!"
I threw the last pack of meat on Chris' face, and then, I left them with the last flashbang. I swiftly continue to the stairs up.
At last, I was already at the 21st floor. There was one more floor to go.
"Aaaaahhhhh!!!!!” a moan was heard from the bottom floor.
"I’ve just outsmarted you, Chris! Now, they deserve the dirtiest flesh of yours!"
No time to waste because it was already over. I was walking my steps up to the rooftop.
