"We’re going to make it out here, I know it", Brock said hopefully.

"I can see in your eyes that you’re happy to see your sister alive", Diane told him.

"You nailed it. Jacob’s right. I shouldn’t have disrespected him in the first place."

"You both need to trust my men. I’ve done the same thing before. Like you, I didn’t trust them when I battled a hundred of abominations. The time that you saw me, I felt alone, but you both encouraged me to fight on my own", Chief said.

"You got it all wrong Chief. You’re not alone. You have us now", Diane said.

"She’s A+. Without you, we wouldn’t have been here in the first place", Brock added.

Chief had just smiled. Diane knew what he was thinking; that all of his great efforts were working for the sake of them who needed him the most.

“Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang . . . !”

Suddenly, they heard series of gunshots.

"Ashyra!" Brock shouted, as he ran to the direction of the noises.

"Brock, wait!" Diane stopped him.

As they followed him, they saw three soldiers battling against the infected.

"Wait. I remember them. They’re the soldiers who’ve called Halford Inc. for help. Let’s help them", Brock insisted to approach them.

"Wait, Brock. They’re from the outpost. They’re Richard's men. We can’t trust them", Diane said, while she was gripping on his arm.

Brock stopped and hid with them. He hadn’t spoken any word.

". . . Nest! Nest! Do you copy?! This is Eagle! We need wings to haul us out of here!" a soldier reported.

"I think; they’ve been turned into one of them now. We’re the only ones left in here", another soldier spoke.

"Aaahhh!!! This reeks! I’m losing ammo now! I don’t want to die here!" the last soldier shouted in panic.

Brock turned to Diane again and said, "They’re also people Diane, living people! Think about their families also! We got to help them now before they get eaten!"

"Alright, alright. Let’s move", Diane was finally convinced, as she loaded her sniper rifle.

Suddenly, the infected were almost ready to attack. Eventually, Brock and Chief ran to the danger site with flaring guns.

“Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang . . . !”

"Engle, the wings are here!" Brock shouted.

"I can’t believe this! There are still people out here!" the soldier surprisingly exclaimed.

"No time for talking! We’ll back you up! Just run to the other side, when I say go!" Diane exclaimed.

The soldiers were already in position. Brock and Chief were still clearing the path.

After several minutes . . .

"Alright, go!" there was the signal.

The soldiers began to sprint, while Diane was shooting everything that was moving suspiciously.

"Bang!" she shot one.

"Bang!" she shot another one.

"Aaahhh!!!" one of the soldiers shouted. He was bitten!

"Oh no, you don’t”, Diane whispered, as she shot the infected.

“Bang!”

"I’m out Chief!" Brock shouted.
