While were speeding along the highway, we talked about our interests, experiences and dislikes.

"So Bob, tell us something about yourself", Hunnigan asked him.

"Well, I’ve been working with Jay in the police force for almost ten years. I got a wife and two kids, but unfortunately, they left me because of the truth that my wife has another man. She left me without reason and without a choice", Bob narrated, and then, he wept.

"I know that I’ll never be alone because Jay’s always been there for me, through laughs, joys, sadness and madness. No one can put a price on that", he continued.

"Thanks Bob, even though, you’re a mediocre sometimes", I jokingly said.

"Don’t mention it, coffee freak."

"What about you, Jacob? What’s yours?” Ashyra asked me.

"We’ve been the greatest friends ever. Bob scratches my back, and I scratch his. When the time came that I was being expelled from the force, I didn’t give up. That’s the reason why I’m here with you guys. I still have my duty to finish", I narrated.

"That’s one of the most interesting cowboy lines I’ve ever heard. Way to go!” Bob said, and he punched my arm.

"Don’t be a gay Bob", I told him.

"Nice pipes you got there, coffee freak."

We could hear the ladies laugh at the back seat. They were laughing at us.

"Bob, they’re laughing at you. You look like a clown", I teasingly said.

"Why are they laughing at me? I’m handsome, so there’s nothing wrong with my gorgeous face", Bob proudly said.

"Yeah, you’re right, except your tummy full of donuts. It actually pops out of your uniform."

"Oh, speaking of that, I’m hungry. Would you care for a snack?” Bob offered.

"There’s the gas station Bob. Pull it over smoothly there", I said.

At last, we arrived at the gas station. Bob parked the car beside a gas tank and I got out of the car with the nurses.

"Bob, fill your tummy, I mean, this baby up. We’re going to grab some snacks", I told him.

Bob nodded in affirmation.

"Come with me ladies. Stick together", I said.

I first entered the station. There was no one in there, except for the mess scattered everywhere. I walked past the cubicles quietly, and then I checked the rest rooms.

"Oh my . . .” I whispered, as I saw a dead gasoline boy on the floor. He was noticeably bitten on his neck.

I returned to them and asked, “Who wants to use the rest room? Unfortunately, everything in there is out of order."

Luckily, no one cared for a urine deposit.

"Okay ladies, grab everything you can."

The nurses began to fill up their bags with all sorts of snacks.

"Grab everything now, because we might not get to a stop again. We need to proceed to the airport, while there is still time, but don’t hurry yourselves to rest and to lay low", I said.

I stood by the door, and I saw Bob still filling up the car.

"Bob, make sure it’s filled up. We won’t stand a chance to walk", I said.

Bob nodded again.

"Aaahhh!!!” audibly, someone screamed from behind.

I turned around, and I saw Debbie backing herself from the dead gasoline boy!

"Stay back!” I exclaimed, as I pointed the gun at it.

"Bang!” I pulled the trigger. It was being dropped on the ground.

Everyone was terrified. Then, Bob came out from nowhere.

"What’s wrong?” he asked.

"I just shot something. I shot it in the head and it never backed up again", I replied.

“Then, what?”

"It’s dead. It’s already dead, didn’t you get it? It’s the . . . It’s its head. There something in its head. We cause the brain trauma, and it won’t come back.”

“And so, we won’t be worrying about wasting ammo. You’re a genius, Jay. I like that.”

"Can I hit Bob?” Hunnigan teasingly asked.

We laughed so hard at Bob.

"Get a life Hunnigan, it’s not funny", Bob said with a frown, and he went back to his post.

"Alright, we need to rest now. We’ll be cruising along the highway again in an hour", I said.

As everyone made their own resting positions, I walked a foot away from the station. I came out at the pavement, and Bob approached me.

"Jay, everything’s all set", he said.

"Wait for them to rest", I said.

"So, what’s the plan?"

"The plan doesn’t change. We’re still going to the airport to check some flights, and even, to pick up some survivors from there, if there are any."

"I think we need a bigger car. It won’t hold much heavier load."

"Good idea. Go behind the station and fetch us some gas. Load the trunk with everything you can hold."

"You got it Jay."

As Bob began to move, Ashyra approached me.

"Tell your friends that we might transfer to another bigger car. If we still use Bob's car, we can’t hold as much survivors as we can. Anyway, we need it also to make it our mobile home along the wild roads. We’ll be expecting some of the worst areas we can find along the way", I told her.

"You got it. Say, can we still make it out in the end?” Ashyra asked.

"Yes because hope doesn’t run out, unlike luck", I replied.

"Thank you for doing this. This is a very great of help for us, really."

"It’s my duty", I said, as I patted her shoulder.

"So, are we good to go?” Debbie asked.

"Yeah? I’m ready now", Hunnigan said.

"All set. That’s the last of it", Bob said.

"Wait. I hear something", I said.

I heard series of roaring engines. I took out my gun and I walked a bit far from them. In a mile away, I saw a truck making a beeline towards us. It was making distant, honking sounds.

"Guys look. We got a survivor", I said.

Any minute now, it covered the half of the road. Suddenly, an unexpected explosion set it on fire.

"Oh no", I whispered.

The truck was still moving incredibly in an increasing speed. Suddenly, it changed its direction and turned in front of us!

"Bob! Drive the car away!” I shouted.

Bob ran to the car and drove it away from the tanks. I ran as fast as I could to the station. I entered inside and jumped over the counter. The blazing truck hit the gas tanks, causing it to explode and left the whole gas station in history.
