Nicole stepped out of her car, grabbed her duffle bag and walked to the front door of the mansion. As she was about to knock, the door swung open due to Elijah opening it. Nicole screamed, jumped and dropped her bag. "Nicole, I'm sorry; I didn't mean to frighten you." He said suppressing a chuckle. She raised an eyebrow then smiled. "You heard me coming. I gotta get used to your vamp hearing." Elijah laughed and let her in. "Is that everything?" He asked confused. He was sure she was going to be moving in so he was quite confused when he only saw one bag. "For tonight, yes. I've considered the pros and cons of living here or with Carol and Tyler. After about an hour I realized it'll never be the same now that I found my real family and when they come home I'm gonna tell them I'm moving out." Nicole said with a half smile. Elijah was overjoyed that his niece was ready to be a part of the family.
He could see how the stress was getting to Nicole though. He could see the circles under her eyes from lack of sleep and working almost all day; everyday. He saw the sadness in her face. He pulled her into a hug. He didn't want her to feel like she was being forced into making a choice. Sadly it came to that due to Tyler's anger. Elijah kissed her hair and he felt her cry on his shoulder. He pulled her tighter, nurturing her as if she was a child with a scraped knee. He let her cry.
After a few minutes he picked her up and carried her into the living room. He set her bag on the floor and sat her on the couch. "Wait here, I'll be right back." He said and vamped out of the room. About a minute later everyone was entering the living room. "So what is so important we had to rush down here?" Rebekah asked being the last to enter. She was always one to make an entrance. Elijah joined everyone by walking towards Nicole. "Well Rebekah as you know things have not been so copacetic at the Lockwood home. Tyler refuses to speak to Nicole because of who she is and the choices she has made." Elijah says as he put his hand out to Nicole, which she took and stood next to him. She wiped her tears. She saw her father's sad expression as she looked up at him. "After much deliberation Nicole has decided to accompany us here and become a part of our family." Elijah finished with a smile. Klaus smiled. Rebekah started clapping like a 13 year old. "Finally another girl in the house!" She said happily. Nicole laughed and was suddenly engulfed into a hug by Rebekah. Klaus put a hand on Rebekah's back. "Now Rebekah please don't smother my daughter. She has to be alive to be able to move in." He said rubbing Rebekah's arm. Rebekah pushed Klaus' shoulder playfully and winked at her niece.
Klaus walked to his daughter and hugged her. "I hope you'll be happy with this decision. Welcome home love." He said kissing her head. Nicole side hugged her father and looked at her new family. "Thank you all for being so good to me and making me feel so loved. When I'm here, I feel safe. I feel like I'm where I'm supposed to be." Nicole said choking back tears. Elijah stood on the other side of Nicole which put her between him and Klaus. "We love you Nicole. Always and forever we are your family." Elijah said comforting her. Nicole just looked at her new found family in awe. As broken, violent and imperfect as they were; she had finally found where she belonged. She was home.
