MIKAELSON MANSION
An elaborate breakfast has been set up in the dining room of the plantation house. Rebekah and Niklaus sit across from each other at the table, while Nicole sits at the head of the table which is full of fruit and pastries. One of the servers, a young woman, stands by Klaus' chair as he bites her wrist and feeds from her. Nicole grimaces at her father. "Have you spoken to our good friend Marcel today little sister?" Niklaus asks. Rebekah plays dumb. "No, should I have?" Nicole looks up. She can tell something is off with Rebekah. "He's been mysteriously silent-- avoiding me, some might say. I thought perhaps he may have whispered reasons into your ear. Along with all of those sweet nothings." Rebekah sighs. "If I see him, I'll be sure to ask if he's still sore at you." Nicole continued to study Rebekah. She was definitely up to something. "Let me give a voice to that look in your eyes." He starts mocking her. "My saintly noble brother lies writhing in agony in the Bayou, victim of my bastard brother's bite, when just one or two drops of his blood would ease his pain." Nicole smirked at her father's impression of Rebekah.
Rebekah simply rolled her eyes. "On the contrary, Nik, I am simply enjoying my breaky, waiting for Elijah's healthy return." Nicole had had enough of Rebekah's niceness. "Oh, come on Rebekah, you've been giving him the devil's eye all morning. What's up with you?!" Rebekah frowned at her niece. "Perhaps I'm concerned that if I voice my opinion about what your father did to Elijah, I will end up on the wrong side of his toxic hybrid teeth." Klaus chuckled. "Poppycock! I would never bite you. Elijah made some very offensive accusations about my intentions towards my child. He deserves a day or two of discomfort. Besides, you know my preferred method of punishment for your indiscretions is the dagger." Rebekah smirks as she stands up from her seat. "There is something fundamentally wrong with you." She walks out of the room, leaving Klaus and Nicole alone at the table. Nicole snapped her fingers at her dad. She whispered. "She's up to something." Klaus furrowed his brows at her. Nicole nodded her head towards the back doors to outside.
Once outside Nicole turned on the sprinkler system so Rebekah wouldn't be able to hear them talking. "Dad, I have a really bad feeling about her. She's up to something and I think Marcel is in on it too." Klaus looked at her. "Why do you think that love?" Nicole bit her lip and shrugged. "She's just off. She looked so scared yesterday when you told her you knew about her and Marcel's rendezvous and she totally played dumb just now. She's not on your side. I can feel it." Klaus knew this was probably her witch side kicking in and he didn't question it. "Alright so we have to keep an eye on Rebekah." Nicole nodded. "And Marcel. He's always the ring leader."
THE BAYOU
Elijah is laying on a bed in Dwayne's old shack, tossing and turning restlessly while Hayley stands at his bedside and tries to feed him some water. "Here, drink this." Elijah drinks from the cup she offers, but he immediately starts to gag and cough. He's pale and sweaty and clearly miserable. "Forgive me. Please." Elijah felt like a moral obligation to Hayley. She was pregnant and she was taking care of him. "It's okay. Remind me to annihilate your brother once you're healthy." Elijah chuckled softly. "Yes, remind me to remind you to get in line." Hayley smiled at him. "It doesn't help that we decided to shack up in a swamp either." Hayley walks out onto the porch, leaving the door open to let the breeze into the shack. When Elijah starts to cough, Hayley immediately rushes back. "Are you okay?" Elijah puts a hand up to stop her from coming close to him. "I'm fine. Please, just... return to your reading." Hayley looked at the bible and just shrugged. "I went through the whole thing. It's just a regular Bible... With an entry in a family tree that may or may not be me. But, you know, I've been a little busy worrying about you." Elijah stared her in the eyes. "Hayley, please. This fever will make me unstable. And once the hallucinations begin, I'll start to see things. You must leave me here." Elijah begged. "I'm not leaving you like this." Unbeknownst to either of them, the werewolf Eve is lurking around outside the shack.
