The Long Lost Daughter

         Elijah wasn't sure if he knew her mother. He knew he had met Nicole before; not recently but when she was little. "Honestly Nicole, I think I've met you before, when you were much younger. I remember your eyes. You have your mother's eyes." He said staring at her. Nicole couldn't breathe. She had no memory of her mother or meeting Elijah before. "I don't remember her." Elijah got very close to her. Erasing any space between them. He was so fascinated by her. He studied her face for what seemed like hours. Her eyes resembled Ivy's to a T. Pale olive green coloring with gold flecks around the pupil. Nicole did the same to Elijah. She was trying to remember him. Elijah saw something in her face that shocked him. "Klaus..." he said and took a step back. Nicole snapped out of the trance when he spoke. "Klaus? Your brother Klaus? What about him?" Nicole was confused. Elijah kept staring at her. He had fear and confusion in his eyes. "Elijah what is it?" She took a step toward him but he backed away from her slowly trying to absorb what he just saw. "Nicole, what do you know of your father?" He asked breathlessly. Nicole's raised one eyebrow in curiosity. "Only that my mother gave me the female form of his name." She said confused. Elijah's breath hitched and jaw clenched. "His name was Niklaus. Carol told me my mother left him a month or two after I was born. No one saw him after that."

Elijah started pacing; staring at the floor. "No one mentioned to you that my brother, Klaus has been in Mystic Falls multiple times in the past few years? That we lived here?" He asked with an angry tone. Inside he was fuming. Nicole watched him pace in frustration and confusion. "No why would they? What does your brother have to..." Nicole trailed off. Elijah stopped dead in his tracks the second she stopped talking and his head shot up to look at her. She had a horrifying expression of realization on her face. "Oh. My. God. 'Klaus' is short for 'Niklaus'. Isn't it?" She asked wide eyed. Elijah heard her heartbeat change. "You think your brother is my father?!" She raised her voice. She was getting overwhelmed.He knew she was going to faint. As she started to fall Elijah rushed to her side at vampire speed and caught her and picked her up bridal style. Nicole jumped in his arms. "Woah! How did you do that?!" Nicole asked in fear. She just stared at him. This handsome stranger was apparently her uncle. She couldn't take it. She ran her hands through her hair as her eyes welled with tears. Elijah set her down in a booth. She pulled her knees to her chest and buried her face. "Nicole, I cannot imagine what you are feeling right now but I promise I will help you understand." He said rubbing her upper arms trying to comfort her. Nicole looked up at him and gave a small smile.
