Home At Last

  So they spent a month and two weeks road tripping but it was finally time to return home. Klaus got a call while they were at Animal Kingdom that all the work, including Rebekah's surprise backyard plans for Nicole were complete. It would take about 2 days to travel back to Mystic Falls. Nicole missed her friends. She promised Stefan a date when she got back. She was having such an amazing time over the summer with her family she didn't even realize it was mid August; her birthday was coming up in about a month.

Nicole hated her birthday. When she was a child she had huge backyard birthday parties but as she got older drama always seemed to land on her birthday. She broke her arm on her 12th birthday, her boyfriend broke up with her on her 14th, and her 16th birthday her dress ripped an hour before the party. So yeah her birthdays kinda sucked. She wasn't gonna tell her Dad or anyone about her birthday. She knew Caroline would be the only one to remember. She would be 19 this year and the lingering question was haunting her. Was she going to join her family and be a vampire?

Nicole was overjoyed when she saw the mansion come into view. "Home at last." Klaus had a look of peace on his face. Elijah was driving while Rebekah was asleep in Nicole's lap in the back seat. "Bekah, we're home." Nicole nudged her slightly. "Finally, I need my bed." Nicole chuckled at her aunt. They pulled into the driveway and saw Klaus' hybrids come out to get their luggage. They all said welcome home as they passed Nicole & Klaus. "Well shall we go explore your new room?" "AHHHH Yes please!" They all went up and gasped at Nicole's new room. "Nicole you have fantastic taste." Rebekah gaped at the colors and design of Nicole's room. "We're so doing my room next!" Nicole laughed. She couldn't believe the changes in front of her. She was overjoyed at how amazing her sketches and ideas before her eyes. "This is amazing! Seeing all my sketches for this room come to life. Thank you Dad. I love it." All heads turned to her. "What?" Klaus took a step to her.
"You called me Dad..."
"Yeah... You are my dad."
"It's the first time you called me that."
"Do you not want me to call you that?"
"No, I love it. I just didn't think you were ever going to call me dad."
"Well I wasn't gonna call you Klaus. That's just weird."
"Okay. So I'm dad now?"
"Yes. Always and forever."
