Visiting Father Kieran & Stories With Cami

ST. ANNE'S CHURCH

Father Kieran is lighting candles at the altar for his fallen human faction members when Nicole interrupts him. "Evening Father. I have a favor to ask." Nicole says as she crosses herself. Kieran is angry. "I am saying prayers for the dead. I request a moratorium on favors for the princess." Nicole smirks. "Well, you'll like this one. It involves helping people who need protection." Kieran sighed in frustration. "And whom, may I ask, do they need protection from?" Nicole got right behind Kieran and whispered in his ear. "My Dad." She walked to stand next to Kieran. She grabs a match and lights a candle. "You see, he recently ordered the slaughter of a group of wolves out in the Bayou. Surprisingly, he feels he may have acted too hasty. Thing is, if the vampires find out he's protecting them, it won't sit well." She explains. Kieran sighs, and hesitates for a moment. "I think I can arrange something, on one condition." He sighs again before speaking. "For her own good, I believe it is time for my niece to leave town." He says and looks at Nicole. Nicole nods in understanding. "I'll phone my father now and see that she leaves." She kneels to cross herself again and hurries out.

CAMI'S APARTMENT

Cami is listening to the tape in the audio recorder from earlier, when she stealthily recorded her earlier conversation with Klaus and Marcel. [Klaus: 'Oh, it's quite all right. She knows' Marcel: 'She does?' Cami: 'That you're vampires? Don't worry. He's compelled me to forget everything as soon as I leave.']

Klaus interrupts her. "You're tenacious. It's one of the things I like most about you." Cami angrily approaches him. "Klaus, you can't keep..." Klaus interrupts again. "But you're looking for truths you don't want to find. Monsters are better left as fiction. It's time for you to leave this place, Cami. For your own good." Cami scoffs in his face. "You are such a coward! This isn't about me. You have kept me here for weeks just so someone, anyone, would see who you really are. And now that I have, it scares the hell out of you, doesn't it?" Klaus has guilt written all over his face. "If you knew even a fraction of who I am, it would break you in two!" Cami gets in his face. "Then show me." Klaus prepares to leave, but Cami grabs his arm, so he turns and puts each of his hands on her temples so she can see his memories.

FLASHBACK-- 11TH CENTURY MYSTIC FALLS

It's in the very early 11th century, after Klaus had just fed on and killed a human for the first time after he was first turned into a vampire. Suddenly, Klaus began to transform into a wolf after activating his werewolf curse, and became the first true hybrid. He screamed in agony as his bones cracked and reshaped themselves. Hearing his cries, Mikael and Elijah ran into the woods to find him. "Niklaus!" Elijah screamed. Elijah was about to run toward his brother, but he was held back by Mikael. Mikael is disgusted. "He's a beast." Mikael began to bind Klaus to a wooden cross as he screamed in agony, clearly hurt by Mikael's reaction. "Elijah, hold him down!" Mikael commanded him. Elijah hesitated, torn on whether or not to help. "Brother, please! Don't let them do this to me!" Klaus pleaded through tears to Elijah. "Do it now, boy! Now!" Mikael again commanded Elijah. Elijah finally obeyed and tied the ropes holding Klaus captive. Klaus looks at him with hurt and betrayal in his eyes. "Help me!" He begged; but Elijah ignored him.

PRESENT DAY-- CAMI'S APARTMENT

Cami is sobbing in horror. "Oh, my god. No one should have to experience things like that!" Klaus too has tears in his eyes. "Knowing what you do about this world will only get you killed, and I cannot allow that." He stares her in the eyes and compels her. "Leave New Orleans. Forget everything you've learned here today. Forget me. You have no reason to stay." Cami echoes him in a daze. "I have no reason to stay." Klaus leaves her apartment. Cami stands in her apartment in tears, and once she's gone, her face begins to appear confused as to what just happened as the compulsion takes effect.
