Once everything settled down Nicole went to her room to rest. She threw herself onto her bed, face planted into her pillow. "So I guess you're not going to Mystic Falls then?" Nicole looked up to see Klaus at the door. "How can I? Everytime I try to leave something comes up. Its insane!" Nicole says exasperated. She threw her hands in the air and fell backwards onto her bed. Klaus walked in and sat on the bed next to her. "Maybe they could come here for the weekend or something?" Nicole raised an eyebrow. "Yeah that'll work because they all wanna see you and live under your roof." Klaus chuckled at that. "Well there's no harm in an invitation. Especially for Stefan..." Nicole gave him a glare. Klaus' smirk dropped. "What is it? What did I say?" He asked. With everything going on Nicole never told him she ended things with Stefan. "I told Stefan it wouldn't work out and I ended whatever it was we had." Klaus was surprised. "oh. I didn't know love. I'm sorry." Nicole just shrugged and stared at the floor. "You broke up with him because of Elena didn't you?" Nicole nodded in silence. "I see." Klaus said examining his daughters face. "You have feelings for Stefan?" Nicole nodded again. She bit her lip trying to suppress her tears. "Any chance of reconciliation?" Klaus kept his eyes on her.
Nicole just shrugged. "I basically told him he would never love me like he loved Elena and we'd be better as friends." Klaus didn't know what to say. He knew how much Stefan loved Elena. He remembered the sacrifice Stefan tried to trade himself for Jenna; how Stefan was supposed to be loyal to him but did everything to protect Elena. He knew his daughter would be better off not getting involved with Stefan because of his love for Elena. "I see. Well, maybe you'll find someone here in New Orleans." Nicole smiled through her tears. "Or maybe Jeremy Gilbert would be a good mate for you." Nicole gave her father a quizzical look. "Jeremy? He's my best friend. Nothing romantic." Klaus smirked. "Maybe for you. He sadly is in love with you." Nicole's head snapped to her father. "What?!" Klaus' smirk grew wider. "You can see it by how he looks at you and the way he told you he loves you." Nicole looked at the floor trying to overcome the shock. "Yeah he loves me as a sister." Klaus let out a chuckle. "He says that because he knows you don't reciprocate the feelings." Nicole stared at her father. He was telling the truth. "I gotta go to Mystic Falls." Nicole stood up and started grabbing her suitcases. "No need love." Klaus said. "Why?" Nicole asked. Klaus smirked. "Go look downstairs." He said with his smirk turning into a smile.
