Hellos' and Sophie's Plan

  Nicole, Sophie and Elijah are at the cemetery. Sophie opens the squeaking gate and enters the cemetery. Nicole follows but Elijah stops in front of the entry. Sophie turns around. "This is sacred ground, which means vampires have to be invited in. But, since I'm desperate... Come on in." Elijah is able to enter the cemetery now. "We can talk freely here." Sophie turns to them. "Then I suggest you start talking." Nicole could tell her Uncle was not in a trifling mood. " First, I don't mean to pry but who is she?" Sophie asked staring at Nicole. "This is my ward. Nicole." Nicole just nodded playing along. "She's a witch." Sophie stated. Nicole's eyes widened at Sophie's discovery. "yes she is, she doesn't practice though." Sophie nodded. "What did your sister want with Niklaus?" Nicole stared at Sophie. "Isn't it obvious? We have a vampire problem, and we need help. Marcel has an army backing him. The witches have been trying to fight back. We haven't had much luck, until my sister Jane Anne met a girl, a werewolf passing through the quarter from a small town in Virginia. She had a special connection to your brother." Nicole knew Sophie meant Mystic Falls but she couldn't think of who this werewolf girl was. "What kind of connection?" Elijah asked. "Apparently, they spent some time together. One thing led to another and now this special werewolf girl – she's pregnant. And the father of the child she's carrying is your brother Klaus." Nicole's eyes widened and she started to shake. Elijah held her hand. "That's impossible." He played dumb. "Nothing is impossible, especially not when it comes to your brother. Think about it – they call him the hybrid, right?" She raises her voice and turns her head. "Bring her out!" 

Three witches come out, standing in formation around Hayley, the pregnant werewolf girl. Elijah watches her with interest, while Hayley seems a bit confused and really irritated. "Hayley?!" Nicole was in shock. Hayley and Nicole became friends when she brought Tyler home and crashed at their place for a while. "Hey Nicole. It's good to see you." Nicole ran over and hugged her. Hayley then looked at Elijah and snarled. "Who the hell are you?" Nicole put a hand on Hayley's arm to show her she was safe. "Give us a moment, please." Nicole, Elijah and Hayley are inside a burial vault, lit by numerous candles on the walls around them. "So, have they been holding you here against your will?" Nicole asked. "They lured me out to the bayou and grabbed me. And they did all these... weird witchy tests. Not that I understand how this could happen. I mean, vampires are dead. They can't have children!" Hayley was pissed and confused. Nicole felt sympathy for her friend. "Perhaps if you knew my brother's story, it might explain how this is possible. Nicole, you too. Here, if I may." Elijah tries to lay his hand on Hayley's temple, but she recoils. "What are you doing?" She asks. "Hayley it's okay." Nicole tries to reassure her. "Both of you relax. If you open your mind to me, I can show you." Hayley and Nicole allow Elijah to touch their heads. They close their eyes.

Elijah: In the beginning, our family was human... A thousand years ago, now.
(FLASHBACK)
Rebekah: Come, Henrik. Our brothers are fighting again.
[Although our mother dabbled in the dark arts, we were actually just a family trying to survive in a time when it was quite difficult to do so. And, for better or worse, we were happy. That is, however, until one night, our youngest brother was killed by our village's greatest threat.]
(FLASHBACK)
(Klaus comes home, carrying Henrik's body.)
Klaus: Mother!
[Men that could transform themselves into wolves during the full moon. Our family was devastated, none more than Niklaus. Desperate to protect the rest of us, our father forced our mother to call upon her black magic in order to make us stronger.]
(FLASHBACK)
(Mikael, their father, holds the bleeding arm of a human in front of Rebekah.)
Mikael: Drink!
(Rebekah drinks the blood.)
[Thus, the first vampires were born. But with this speed, this strength, this immortality, came a terrible hunger. No one felt this hunger more than Niklaus.]
(FLASHBACK)
(Klaus attacks a human, feeds, and the person dies.)
Elijah: (present-day voiceover) When he killed for the first time, we knew what he truly was.
(Klaus turn into a wolf. He screams, his bones cracking. Mikael and Elijah come running.)
Elijah: Niklaus!
Klaus: What is happening to me?
(Elijah wants to run to his brother, but he can't as he is held back by his father.)
Mikael: Don't!
Klaus: Father! It hurts!
Mikael: He's a beast, an abomination.
(PRESENT DAY)
"He wasn't just a vampire." Nicole was focusing on what Elijah was saying. "He was also a werewolf. That's how the werewolf curse works. It isn't activated until you take a life." Hayley said. Nicole was becoming scared by what she was seeing. "Niklaus was the result of an indiscretion our mother had hidden from us all. An affair, with a werewolf like yourself." Elijah continued the visions.
(FLASHBACK)
(Esther, their mother, stands in front of a fire, casting a spell.)
[Enfuriated by this betrayal, my father forced our mother to cast a spell that would suppress Klaus's werewolf side, denying him any connection with his true self.]
(Mikael binds Klaus to a wooden cross.)
Mikael: Elijah! Elijah, hold him down!
Klaus: Brother, please! Don't let them do this to me!
Mikael: Do it now, boy! Now!
Klaus: Help me!

(PRESENT DAY)
They all come back to their senses. "Your dad was a dick." Hayley says. Elijah chuckles. Nicole was in shock of what her 'grandfather' did to klaus. "I'm Hayley, by the way. You should probably know my name if you're gonna tell me your whole life story. I mean, I know yours. Your family is legendary. Your brother is a notorious psycho... who I slept with. Classic me." Nicole shuddered when Hayley said that. "I cannot excuse his behavior, but you must understand, when our father hunted him – hunted us – for centuries, every time we found a moment of happiness, we were forced to flee. Even here, in New Orleans, where we were happiest of all. Not long after Niklaus broke the spell which prevented him from becoming a hybrid, he defeated our father. I thought this would make him happy." Elijah shakes his head. "He was angrier than ever. I wonder if perhaps this baby might be a way for my brother to find happiness. A way to save him from himself." Nicole just smiled. They couldn't tell Hayley who Nicole really was right now. Once they kn ew she could be trusted they would tell her.
Sophie enters the vault. "I'm glad you feel that way, because we need your help." Nicole rolled her eyes at Sophie. "What, precisely, is it that you want and what does it have to do with this young woman?" 

Sophie looked at Hayley and then narrowed her eyes at Elijah. "We want to run Marcel and his vampires out of town. Klaus is the key. Everything Marcel knows about being a vampire, he learned from Klaus. Marcel trusts him, looks up to him, and he won't see the betrayal coming." Nicole shook her head. "Yes, well, as I'm sure you're aware, my brother Niklaus doesn't like to be told what to do." Nicole moved next to her Uncle. "That's why I brought you here. Marcel drove the werewolves out of town decades ago. Do you really think he's going to welcome a hybrid baby to the neighborhood? Convince Klaus to help us, and no one has to know about the newest member of the Original family." Nicole finally stepped in "That sounds remarkably like blackmail." Sophie shrugged. "Like I said, I'm desperate." Elijah just sighed. "Well, then, I have my work cut out for me, don't I?

Nicole was in total shock at what she just heard. "Now time to find Niklaus." Elijah started walking and Nicole followed. "If Marcel knows he's here; he's with Marcel at the compound." Nicole looked at Elijah who's eyes hardened when Sophie mentioned Marcel. He kept walking."Listen to me Nicole, until we know we are safe; you are my ward. If people, especially the witches find out you are Klaus' daughter they will use you to get to him. Do you understand?" Nicole nodded. Elijah then scooped her up and vamped them to the compound. They saw Niklaus on the balcony. They vamped up to him. Elijah told Nicole to stay quiet.

Klaus was just staring into nothingness. "Evening Elijah." Elijah moved next to where Klaus was standing. "Niklaus." Klaus rolled his eyes and stared at his brother. "What an entirely unwelcome surprise." Elijah returned a glare. "And what an entirely unsurprising welcome. Come with me." Klaus turned back to the balcony. "I'm not going anywhere. Not till I find out who's conspiring against me." Elijah took a step toward his brother. "I believe Nicole and I just found that out for you." Klaus turns to look at Elijah. "You brought Nicole with you?" Elijah ushered her to come out. Nicole stepped out onto the balcony. "I wanted to help. Bonnie trained me. So who do we need to kill?" Elijah and Klaus both smirked at her Mikaelson attitude.

Elijah and Klaus agreed Nicole would be a help considering how much power she has. Some time later, Elijah leads Klaus & Nicole into the cemetery. "What are we doing here?" Nicole shivered. "I've got a bad feeling about this." Elijah grabbed her hand and stepped toward Klaus. "You wanna know what the witches have in store for you? Follow me." They walked into a mausoleum. "Sophie Deveraux, what is this?" Sophie took a step towards Klaus. "You know you're famous in this town? Witches tell bedtime stories about the powerful vampire Klaus. We know Marcel was nothing but an orphan street rat, until you made him what he is. And now he's out of control. He does what he wants, he kills who he wants. I'm gonna stop him, and you're gonna help me." Nicole was afraid of what Sophie had in store for her father. Klaus turned to Nicole & Elijah "This is why you brought me here?" Elijah nodded his head to Sophie "Hear her out." Klaus was mad. "I don't need to hear her out. I assure you, love, there is not a thing on this earth that will matter enough for me to waste even thirty more seconds of my time. Elijah, what madness is this?" Nicole's eyes widened when she saw who entered the mausoleum next.
