Nicole was walking through the quarter when she feels someone next to her. She jumps when she sees Rebekah. "Jesus Aunt Bekah you scared the crap out of me!" Rebekah put an arm around Nicole. "Sorry love, I need to meet a witch and I have no idea what she looks like." Nicole nods "Sophie?" Rebekah smiles. "You got it." Nicole leads Rebekah to Rousseau's and points to Sophie in the back.

Sophie is scrubbing a table inside the restaurant when the door shuts suddenly and she hears the whoosh of a vampire running unseen. She walks cautiously, listening for further sounds. "Hello? Seriously, Marcel? Trying to scare me? I had nothing to do with the attack on your guys last night!" Some hanging pots start moving behind Sophie, as though a wind has passed through them, and she turns around. She walks toward them slowly, and then grabs a knife, which she lifts in time for Rebekah to appear with Nicole behind her and grab her raised, knife-wielding arm. "Sophie Deveraux. My brother, Elijah, told me about you. Know who I am?" Sophie nodded. "Yeah, I know." Sophie waves at Nicole. Nicole returns the wave. "Then you know we need to talk."

Nicole, Rebekah and Sophie talk while walking among the burial vaults of the cemetery. "So, if I had to guess, knowing Klaus's history, Elijah has a dagger in his chest. It's a magical object, you're a witch. Do a locator spell; locate the dagger, and locate Elijah." Nicole eyed Sophie to see if she'd do it. "I can't use magic. It's punishable by death – Marcel's rules." Nicole frowned when she realized no one was gonna stand up to Marcel. "Marcel? What do you think I'm going to do to you if you don't give me what I want?" Nicole glares at Sophie. "Not much. I've been linked, so anything you do to me, you do to Hayley." Nicole totally forgot about that tiny detail. "Who?" Nicole and Sophie give her a significant look. "Oh, right the mumzy. Well, luckily for you, Elijah seems to care about her, otherwise I'd break your neck right here." Nicole interrupted. "How did Marcel get so powerful, anyway?" Rebekah narrowed her eyes at Sophie. "Yes, he wasn't like this when I left a hundred years ago."

Sophie shook her head and shrugged. "Marcel has a way to tell whenever there's magic done in the Quarter. The 'how' isn't relevant." Rebekah rolled her eyes. "I'll tell you what's not bloody relevant – a coven of witches who can't do magic. Here's an idea: move away." Nicole smirked. Sophie shook her head. "We practice ancestral magic. This cemetery is filled with the remains of our witch ancestors. Without access to them, we're powerless. If we run, we're leaving our legacy behind – our home, our family."Nicole felt terrible for these witches; she could use her magic whenever she wanted. These poor souls couldn't practice or leave New Orleans. Rebekah interrupted Nicole's thoughts. "Well, family's overrated. Look at me. I'm back in a city that's given me nothing but heartache, looking for a brother who's hell-bent on protecting a baby I don't care about." Nicole was shocked to hear those words out of Rebekah. She loved her aunt but to hear her say something like that just stung. She didn't want to help Hayley or her future half sibling. She was finally seeing Rebekah's true colors.

"I find that hard to believe. You're here, aren't you?" Nicole looked at her aunt. "I'm here for Elijah. The instant I find him, I'm gone." Nicole's face dropped. "He was the one who idiotically believed this baby would be Niklaus' redemption. And now he's missing, probably at the hands of Klaus himself." Nicole was seriously starting to wonder if everything Bekah was saying about her father was true. "And you were foolish enough to believe that Elijah could convince Klaus to go against Marcel, when everyone knows that they have a history." Nicole didn't know the whole story between Klaus and Marcel but the way Rebekah was speaking; They were apparently closer than her and Klaus. "Klaus sired Marcel. I'm aware." Sophie shrugged to show it wasn't a big deal."You don't understand. Marcel is not just some guy that Klaus turned into a vampire. Klaus loved him like a son." Rebekah said. "Niklaus saw himself in the boy. He remembered how our father used to beat him. He, too, was the bastard child of a man who saw him as nothing but a beast. And that is why your plan will fail. All you've done if bring back together two long-lost souls. Without Elijah between them, who knows what they'll do." Rebekah walks off. Nicole waved to Sophie and followed behind her aunt while Sophie absorbs what Rebekah has said.
