Caroline pulled into the driveway of Mikaelson Manor. The ride was mostly silent with Caroline popping little questions here and there. "Nicole, please talk to me? I'm your best friend." Nicole shook her head. "I can't Caroline. I can't talk to you about Elena and Stefan." Caroline nodded and sighed. "Look, all I know is Stefan does care about you; but I totally understand where you're coming from. You would never lose me because of Elena and your hating each other, if things between you and Stefan became serious. I think you two make a great couple." Nicole smiled at her. "Thanks Care. I just don't know how to be with someone as amazing as Stefan when he's in love with someone as amazing as Elena." Nicole said in a hurry. "Yeah we're not exactly friends and there are times where I wanna punch her but even I know she's everyone's first choice." She said shaking her head. Caroline felt so terrible about Elena being the wedge between Nicole and Stefan. Caroline remembered Stefan turning her down for Elena. "I don't know Nicole. Maybe you could talk to Rebekah about it." She said with a shrug. Nicole laughed. "Ha! 'Hey Aunt Bex, I'm having trouble with your ex who loved not just one but two doppelgangers you hate'. Yeah that'll be a fun conversation." Nicole said rolling her eyes. Caroline laughed "Yeah, good point." She said with a wink. Nicole smiled. "Thanks for driving me home Care. I'm sorry this is happening. I wish I wasn't so insecure." Nicole said sadly. "You're not being insecure Nic, you're being human." Caroline said putting a hand on her best friends shoulder. "I love you CareBear." Nicole hugged Caroline. "I love you too ColeyPoo." Caroline said as she pulled out of the hug. Nicole grabbed her coat. "I'll talk to you later." She said with a smile. "Okay. See you later." Caroline replied. Nicole got out of the car, waved goodbye and walked into her house.
It was extremely quiet. She went upstairs to her father's studio. "Dad?" No answer. She went to Elijah's study. "Uncle Elijah?" No answer. She went back downstairs to see Elijah & Rebekah out in the backyard. "There you guys are, where's dad?" Nicole asked. "New Orleans. He left earlier than he thought he would have to." Elijah answered, staring at the table. Nicole felt bad
that she didn't get to say goodbye. Elijah and Rebekah had solemn and troubled expressions on their faces. "Ok, whats going on? Somethings wrong." Elijah stood up from his chair while Rebekah remained silent. "Apparently there's a plot to destroy my brother." He said rather infuriated but Elijah was good at hiding it. Nicole's mouth fell open. Her heart became full of fear for her father. Elijah turned to her. "But nothing can kill you guys except a white oak stake, which you all said were destroyed." Nicole said panicked. "They were destroyed. We think they may have found another way." Rebekah said worried. Nicole took a deep breath. "Holy crap." She said sitting down next to Rebekah. Elijah knelt in front of her. "Tell me Nicole, have you ever wanted to see New Orleans?" Nicole looked at him. "If this is you're way of asking me to come with you to save my father then yes, I would love to see New Orleans." Nicole said as her face twisted into a dangerous smirk. Elijah smiled at his niece's confidence. She was just like Klaus.
