Chapter 18

<Joe's POV>

I opened my eyes and a groan escaped from my mouth. I tried to move but it was really difficult. I fell asleep on the hospital chair next to Nick's bed and the pain in my back was horrible. I looked at my phone and it was slightly after six am. I rubbed my eyes and slowly stood up. Everyone else was sleeping and so was Nick.

All the bruises and cuts he had made me flinch. I couldn't believe my little brother had a serious crash and he has almost died. When my mother called me yelling that Nick is dying I barely could move. I've never been this scared in my entire life and I was completely helpless. But when she told me Demi is here I knew Nick was in safe hands. I took the earliest plane possible but it still wasn't enough. I knew my mom was pissed I wasn't there for them, that I didn't even tell them I moved to New York. She hated me, but wouldn't show it because she was too worried about Nick. I placed my hand on his and squeezed it. – I know you can do this, dude. – I whispered and walked out feeling tears in my eyes.

– MOMMY! Joe took my teddy bear! – five year old boy with curly hair was running around living room tears falling off his face. His older brother hid in the wardrobe knowing he would make mom angry but couldn't be any prouder of his work. A thirty five years old woman let out a long sigh going upstairs with her youngest son in her arms sobbing. – Joseph, come here! – she raised her voice opening the door to her middle son's room. She heard some giggles coming from wardrobe so she opened it. She couldn't help but groan when she saw that Joe painted whole teddy's face using her lipstick and mascara. – Joseph, you aren't getting ice creams tonight. Nick will get yours. – she said making younger boy clap his tiny hands. – I already ate both, ha! – Joe exclaimed running off the room to hide in his father's office making his mother sigh for the 9876th time.

Three boys were running in the snow laughing and enjoying Christmas time. Suddenly Kevin formed a snow ball and threw it at Joe making him sob. It hurt him and it was cold. Kevin started laughing as Joe was crying harder. Suddenly they both stopped when Kevin's face got hit with a big snow ball. – Don't you hit Joey! – the youngest one showed up next to his side running to Joe with a grin showing his five teeth in the front. They high-fived each other laughing at Kevin's pouty face. Joe hugged Nick making his smile even wider, he knew he impressed his brother and he was proud of himself.

I shook my head getting rid of memories. I love my brothers so much, I couldn't even imagine my life without one of them. I couldn't thank Demi enough for saving Nick last day. I finally realized this woman meant the world to me and I could've lost her easily. I went to the changing room needing some space. My eyes widened a bit when I saw her there sitting on the couch. – What are you doing there so early? – I asked and Demi shrugged her arms. – I couldn't sleep anyway so I came earlier. – she stood up and pecked my lips. I automatically wrapped my arms around her deepening it. – Oh, how I missed that. – I mumbled and pulled her into a hug. – How is he? – she asked and I tensed up a bit. – I think he is okay, but in deep sleep. – I sighed and she looked me in the eyes. – Don't worry, he's gonna be fine. I'm sure. – she said and I rubbed her cheek with my thumb. – I love you so much. – I connected our lips together again. Demi smiled through our kiss and put her hands on my chest. – I love you too. – I nodded at her statement. – You better do. – I winked and she chuckled a bit. We sat on the couch and I put my hand on her stomach. It was kinda big already which was surprising but I didn't dare to make a comment on it, because I knew she was very sensitive about that. I lifted her t-shirt and planted a soft kiss on her bump. And another one, and another making a track up. A smirk appeared on my face as I started unbuttoning her uniform. She shook her head with a grin. I furrowed my eyebrows.

– Isn't it mine? – I asked recognizing it. Demi shrugged her arms. – Got a problem with that? – she raised her eyebrow and put her legs on mine. I laughed at the fact she was acting like a boss. 

– Nope, of course I don't, Dr Lovato. – I put my hands up in defence. I was actually happy she wore it. – How are you feeling today? – I asked sitting her on my lap. – I'm fine. – she cuddled to my chest. I kissed her forehead. – The question is how are you feeling today? – she looked up at me, I sent her a weak smile. – I had better days, but it's not that bad. My mom is mad at me, she said I should've been there for him and I disappointed whole family. – I sighed rubbing Demi's thigh. I closed my eyes. 

– This is NOT true, baby. It's not your fault he was in the crash. Your mom should be thankful he survived instead of blaming it on you. You couldn't have predicted that. – she kissed me passionately. – How long are you staying in LA? – she asked breaking the kiss. I shrugged my arms. – I don't know yet, why? You're already tired of me? – I looked at her with my eyes squinted. She laughed shaking her head. – Nah, I wish you stayed here forever. I'm so lonely. – my smile faded away when she pouted.

– Demi... - I started and she tensed a bit. – No, Joe. Listen... I'm not gonna hide the fact I don't like you being away, I don't think it's only three months to be honest. You've been away for some weeks and our relationship almost ended. I don't think it's good but I also don't want to stop you from your dreams and career. – she stated making me groan. She got up and left leaving me alone fighting with my thoughts.

2 weeks later.

Nick was released home a couple of days ago and Matt decided it was a great reason to throw a party as long as I was in LA. I agreed, because I definitely needed some relax and I hoped Demi would go with me.

I turned around as I heard her going out of bathroom. I smirked when her towel slipped a bit showing her nipple and she threw a pillow at me. I chuckled and caught her in the middle making her fall on the top of me. I started sucking her earlobe gently and took that towel off. – You're so beautiful. – I whispered biting her bottom lip and she shook her head searching for some clothes. I grabbed her waist and pulled her again and she squealed a bit throwing her head back laughing. – Leave me alone, you pervert! – she said when I was moving my eyebrows. I surely looked like one. I laughed again and pecked her lips. – Are you going with me to Matt tonight? – I asked hugging her from behind placing my hand on her stomach. My lips were leaving love marks on her neck and I couldn't help but smile when she was gasping every time I touched her.  Demi laid on her back showing me herself and I noticed her red cheeks smirking when she pulled covers to hide her body. I teased her a bit but eventually let her do her thing waiting for my answer. 

– I don't want to, he is such a pain in my ass. – she rolled her eyes, making me laugh. Gosh, she hated him so much. – I don't care, I want you to go with me, so I could show everyone how beautiful is my girlfriend. – I pressed my lips on hers trying to slid my tongue but she wouldn't let me. I pouted making her giggle. – Go with me. – I pulled her closer and cupped her face. – For me. Please. – I gave her some kind of puppy eyes and she rolled her eyes again, so I started kissing her face all over. She tried to escape from my grip but she was too weak. I kept leaving wet kisses on her face and she barely could catch her break because she was laughing this hard. – Fine, whatever! I'm going!! I. AM. Going!! – she raised her hands up as the sign of giving up and I grinned. – By the way, I don't want him to be anywhere near your ass, especially not in. – I raised my eyebrow making her laugh, tears soon falling off her face. I soon joined her enjoying the time we got to spend together. I slightly took the covers off and I rubbed her breasts. – Hey, these got bigger, haven't they? – I smirked getting a slap on my bare chest. – That was a compliment though! – I defended myself lying my head on her plump boobs playing with them for a while. – You're so dumb. – she let out a chuckle and got up grabbing my t-shirt. I smacked a bit making her look at me with a confusion in her eyes. – Let's have a free day, no clothes. That's main rule. – I said smirking as her eyes widened a bit. – You're horny and impossible! – Demi shook her head throwing the t-shirt in a corner. That literally looked like that, but I loved when she was blushing and I wanted her to feel completely free around me as well. I only squinted my eyes. – Take. That. Back. – I stood up taking my boxers off her eyes following my body. I saw how she bit that lip giving me seductive look. I smirked getting closer as she was going back. – Stop. – she warned me but soon I was chasing her around the flat as she was screaming and laughing all the time. I had to wipe my eyes, I've never laughed this much in my entire life. – I love you. – I caught her pecking her lips and connecting our foreheads together.
