"There is a time in the life of every problem when it is big enough to see, yet small enough to solve." - Mike Leavitt

"I'm surprised to see you up and out so early." Gemma smirked as Amelia walked into the office. There was no truth to the jabs, Amelia was an early riser but there was something about teasing her, knowing she felt useless without working, that gave Gemma such joy.
Amelia bit her tongue. "Morning, Gem." She said through her teeth. "I'm looking for Jax."
"He's not here, that for him?" She gestured to the paperwork under Amelia's arm.
"It is," she slapped it down on the desk with a smug smile. "The final mortgage documents, I just need his signature and I can overnight it to the realtor."
"Do you really think he'll be happy there?" She sneered. "Jax's heart is in Charming, Vegas won't make him happy."
"I make Jax happy," Amelia snapped back. "And his heart, is with me and our daughter." Feigning more confidence than she really possessed, Amelia leaned over the desk in Gemma's face. "You don't have to worry about him, his happiness or his heart anymore."
Without breaking eye contact, Gemma knocked her mug of coffee over, the liquid pouring over the documents. "Oops," she smiled.
"Bitch," Amelia hissed as she swiftly tried to salvage what she could. "You're insane, Gem. Why are you doing this?"
"Because I don't like when people try to tear my family apart." Gemma slowly rose to her feet, her arms crossed over her chest, and pursed her lips as she stared at Amelia.
"I'm not tearing anyone apart."
"No, maybe not, but you're not completely innocent are you?"
Amelia drew her head back, puzzled and cautious. "What? I haven't done anything."
"Exactly, you haven't been completely honest with Jax, have you?"
Pure horror filled Amelia's chest. All she could think of was Juice, their kisses, and she was terrified of what Jax would do.
"You don't understand," Amelia stuttered.
"What I do understand is a threat against you is one against my son and granddaughter." Gemma cocked her head to the side.
"Threat?" Amelia inhaled sharply.
"I never forgot you," Gemma said coolly. "I saw you hid the note and picture the other day when I was babysitting Alice."
"You snooped around my house?" Amelia tried to change the subject but it was a weak attempt.
Gemma rolled her eyes. "Please," she scoffed. "I was putting dishes away and cleaning."
"My house is clean," Amelia said knowing there wasn't much use in fighting Gemma's motivation. "I didn't tell him because it's not club business and it could put SAMCRO in the eyes of some very justice hungry people."
"The same people you call friends and coworkers?"
"I'm not doing this with you." Amelia said gathering the stained and drenched paperwork. "And this won't keep us here, all I have to do is reprint them at home."
"You don't want Jax to know about your little Vegas problem, do you?"
"What are you getting at?" Amelia growled. "I don't have all day to sit here and try to decipher your vague machinations."
Gemma clicked her tongue, anything but impressed by Amelia's vocabulary, and sighed as she laid it out. "Kill the move, Amelia."
"Never," she spat. "And not only because it's what we want, we as in me and Jax, but because you hate it so much that you'd try to blackmail me, the mother of your grandchild and your son's fiancée."
