Extra Piece to the Game
They say I’m gifted.
Life peeled back from reality,
I dream that one day I could change the world.
Autodidact and unmotivated,
how can I even get out of bed
and call myself a human being
like all the rest.
They call it insight
the way I understand people as individuals
and as societal herd led by the corrupt.
Moulded by the media,
marionettes to the rich and famous,
striving for a comfortable place in the world.
They think I’m depressed
for my particular disgust and concern
in regards to the direction of world.
Greed consumes the masses,
as in turn they will ignore the needs of the helpless
so long as they may gain from it.
Empty of much individual thought,
their programmed minds collect dust.
I call it mindful
to see the world as it is,
with no ulterior motives but to help.
Wisdom is best collected
with a clear and open mind.
An extra piece to the game,
I observe each move.
My dream is to open eyes
so we may all step back
to really look at the world,
and role we play in the game of life.
