Namaste
Exhale with the wind
as it rattles each leaf in the trees.
Fingers spread to their widest
with open palms stretched towards the sky.
Birds sing melodically as they fly,
feathers dancing with the breeze,
they are free.Swoop to a bow and touch the earth,
a carefully woven carpet of vibrant grass.
Like a dance, transitioning to downward dog,
all my cares and worries rush through my head
and escape with my breath. One foot forward in warrior,
my strength is tested and improved with each minute more.
Back in standing, my weakness is balance, for which I must face.
Raising the left leg up behind me as the right arm extends,
this pose I avoid for fear of falter.
My stance is shaken, and my foot drops doubtingly to the ground.
Frustrated, I stop, close my eyes, and breathe deeply.Again,
arm straight ahead and leg kicked back, Dancer's pose.
An important artistry to acquire,
mental and physical balance makes for a healthy life.
Before achieving balance, one must have patience
and confidence that they will succeed with effort.Still I stagger, but not as promptly as before.
With a smile, I must acknowledge my practice.
Inhaling into prayer, then with a whisper,
''Namaste'', and it is done.
Rejuvenated for the day ahead,
I tip my mug of tea to my lips,
thankful for all life has to offer. Please vote and leave your comments :)
Thank you!
