Your breaths were shallow as you gasped for air, running down the dark hallway. He's coming. He's coming. He's coming! A maniacal laugh floated down the hall echoing in your ears. No! Stay away! The beast with red eyes hunted you, tracking your every movement. Your heart beat faster than it ever has before, threatening to burst out of your chest. The school was a maze of dark hallways, heavy footsteps treading after you.
"Where are you going? Are you scared? Don't worry. You can become one with me!"
God why was this happening? Your legs grew weak, the end of the hallway sounding your doom.
"Someone, help!"

"This is it."
You tugged on the handle of the suitcase dragging it behind as you walked the stone path, eyes focusing on the looming hill. Surrounded by wildflower fields and trees was a collection of proud buildings. Precision Academy, your new school.
This is the first time you studied abroad, and in Europe no less. You were plenty nervous but also excited. The sun was high in the late summer sky, birds chirping their songs. It's not as if you come from a rich family, yet after over a year of saving had enough to barely attend this prestigious school. It was tough saving up for so long, but you researched the country or re-read the Academy pamphlet for the 100th time to distract yourself.
Some may think it crazy to study abroad fresh out of High School but truth be told you would've done it sooner if possible. You love the idea of travel and adventure, determined to make all sorts of new friends.
"State your business." The guard inside the booth spoke. Isn't it a little obvious?
"New transfer student, (f/n) (l/n)."
He shuffled through some papers before pressing a buzzer, the wrought iron gates swinging open.
Stepping inside you couldn't contain your excitement. You were finally here! The Academy grounds were ENORMOUS, containing sport fields, the main building, a science wing, and a collection of other small sheds and shacks. It wasn't haphazardly thrown together, everything was immaculate, freshly painted and welcoming. You tugged a paper out of a pocket looking over the grounds map, not wanting to end up at the boys dorm by mistake.
Hauling your gear you headed towards the dorm, surprised at how few people were about. You squealed when seeing a girl in the school uniform, a cute moss green skirt and blazer with a brown neck bow. She skipped along after tugging up her white thigh highs, latching onto her boyfriend's arm.
You reached the building, the doors swinging open before you could even knock.
"Miss _?"
"Uh yeah, that's me."
A beautiful girl with long black hair and almond eyes stood in the doorway. She was wearing a uniform too except she had an arm band.
"Are you the..."
"Yep! I'm the dorm president. Come see me if you have any questions, kay? I'll show you to your room and your new roommate." She smiled, beckoning for you to follow.
The ceiling was high, the walls a light beige, dark blue carpet covering the floor. It was well lit by electric candles mounted on the wall. Better not risk a fire.
"How old are you _? Oh, I guess that's kind of rude, huh?"
"Oh, no, it's fine." She made it difficult to speak, whether from her bright personality or the new shyness.
"The youngest student we've had is 17, and the oldest is 24. Though we've had older in the past."
She led you up a flight of waxed wooden stairs, the railing a rich dark brown. She held an air of authority yet friendliness.
"As you'll see, all the girls here are very well behaved. If you do encounter a problem you can tell me or the Dean. Now..." She pointed to the right, "The showers and bathrooms are down at the end of that hallway, while the left is all living quarters."
Knock! Knock!
The door at the end of the hallway slowly opened.
"Hello Miss Hedervary."
A somewhat tall girl with long flowing brown hair stepped into the door frame.
"This is your new roommate, Miss _. I'll leave you two to get situated. Call me if you need anything."
"Hello, I'm Elizaveta. You can call me Eliza."
"Hello, I'm _." She stepped aside to let you in. It was darker than the hallway, green carpet and white lace curtains in front of a rectangular window. Two beds sat on opposite sides of the room, one wooden dresser and a closet in the left corner.
"Please make yourself comfortable."
You pulled the suitcase next to the bed, noticing a small night stand. Her side of the dresser was decorated with bright flowers in a vase. She smiled.
"I know it's not much but it certainly gets the job done." She laughed. "Oh, by the way-you get half of the dresser and closet. There's a rack at the base for shoes."
"Thanks."
You pondered whether to unpack now or not. She seemed to sense the hesitancy.
"I'll give you your privacy. Feel free to explore the rest of the dorm when you're done and then you can join us for dinner."
"Ok. Thanks." She left the room, it suddenly quiet.
"I'm finally here..."
Most of the day's excitement had died down, finding yourself suddenly sleepy. You really hoped to be friends with the new roommate. She seems really nice, a little shy, then again you probably looked like a scared rabbit. Unzipping the suitcase, you gazed inside. It still didn't feel real. You had looked forward to this day for so long and now you were here. A sense of surrealism washed over you.
Tucking the clothes into the wooden dresser you spun on your heels, noticing the gap under the bed. Not that you had anything to store under there, but the option was nice. Unpacking only took about an hour leaving you plenty of time to wander about the dorm. Peering out the door you saw some girls chatting further down the hallway, others going down the stairs. You headed towards the showers, curious if it was communal or not.
"Excuse me, shoes aren't allowed past this point." A girl about your age said, holding out her hand.
"Oh, I'm sorry..."
She laughed, "It's okay, happened to me first time I came here. So what about the showers were you curious about? They're individual with curtains and there's benches to sit on. You get your own caddy for shampoo and soap too."
"Oh..."
She smiled, "Let me know if you need anything else!" She called, heading towards her room.
You decided to go downstairs to join your new roomie for dinner.
The dinner room was large, one long table decorated with white plates and clear glasses. At least a dozen ladies sat at the table, smiling and chatting, waiting for the food to be served. What appeared to be the Dean of the dorm, as she was the oldest one there, stood there waiting for everyone to be present before serving. You waved at Eliza, taking the seat next to her.
Tonight was chicken pasta with garlic bread, a virgin spritzer to celebrate the start of the new semester. You couldn't help but feel as though you joined a fancy sorority.
Tink! Tink! Tink!
The Dean cleared her throat waiting for silence, "Ladies, thank you for your time and dedication to another year at Precision Academy. To those who just arrived, welcome! We all look forward to learning more about you. To the new year!"
They echoed her words, sipping their virgin drinks, chatting with old and new friends. You knew your life was beginning.
