A few days had passed since then, now going to your classes. Your mind traveled back to that incident often. When you had woken up you were in the lounge, a beam of light blinding you. The security guard stared at you before escorting you back to the dorm. Everyone else was asleep which you were grateful for yet also slightly disappointed. At the time you wanted tell Eliza everything but couldn't bring yourself to do so. You just couldn't picture having any sad conversation with her. While you were off from school she took care of the garden duties, seemingly happy to do so.

You never did end up talking with Al. You did start joining him for lunch sometimes, happily listening to his jokes or about the games he played with Kiku. At the same time though, you knew he could sense something was off. That hurt the most. You didn't want to start acting different. What happened to the wonderful days you spent with him? The first time visiting all the clubs, even your adventure of sneaking out into town.

Nothing could motivate you to work. You were called in to the Headmaster's office to discuss your slipping grades but couldn't offer a satisfactory answer. Eliza helped you sometimes after school and Al would text you every day. Your eyes would gaze out the window, relieved when you wouldn't see Ludwig. You could finally breathe after checking each room for the two who hurt you.

You wanted to tell Al but you suspected he already knew. He wasn't 100% sure why you were down this time but could guess. He didn't force you to talk about it, thankfully, trying to cheer you up in any way he could.

"Hey dudette!" He called, chipper as usual.

"Hey Al." You half-smiled.

"Wanna order some take out and hang awhile?"

"...Sure."

He led you to the longue, sinking into the blue bean bag. The room was abandoned, thank god. He tossed his tie on the ground before flopping his jacket on you.

"Hey, what's that for?" You asked, smiling.

"Naughty girls need to be punished." He winked, pulling out his cell phone.

You watched as he ordered the food. Watched his blue eyes, his glasses slide slightly down his nose, his large smile. He rested his elbows on his knees while he talked, sneaking a glance at you. You looked away, your eyes landing on your stockings. They covered where Ludwig had bit you, though it had mostly faded by now. A sudden sickness rose in your stomach.

"You okay?" He asked, sliding his phone in his pocket.

"Yeah, just got a little queasy."

"You don't have to eat with me if you're not feeling well."

"No, I'm fine. I want to be with you." You smiled.

Right now, he was the only person you could trust. Sure there was Eliza, but you only saw her at lunch or the club. Before bed she'd be busy doing homework by lamplight. Alfred dragged his bean bag closer to you. His jacket was still on your chest, filling your nose with the scent of cologne and french fries. You smiled.

"Wanna play a game of air hockey before the food gets here?"

He helped you stand, the machine purring to life after he inserted some coins. The white handles moved across the table, a blue puck sliding towards him. He handed you yours before grinning, "Just cuz you're a girl doesn't mean I'll go easy."

You smiled, "Funny, I was going to say the same thing."

His jaw dropped enabling you to make your first goal. You laughed, sticking your tongue out.

"Hey, no fair!"

"What's this? The Hero is sore loser."

He wagged his finger, "See that's the thing, the hero will never lose!" The puck shot across the table, ramming into the goal. Most of the game went like that, each earning a goal or two until you were tied, 5-5.
