You awoke to someone jumping on your bed.
"Huh?!"
"_ I'm glad you're awake. Did you hear the news?"
You rolled over, "What is it Mei?"
"What is the most important date for every Academy student?"
You buried your face in the blanket, "I don't know, graduation?"
"Wrong! You have one more guess." She giggled, laying on top of you.
You slowly sat up, her nodding enthusiastically.
"That's right! It's the Halloween Ball!"
"They picked a date?"
"Mhmm! It's only five days away!"
"You think they'd alert the students ahead of time."
"Why? We've been getting ready for weeks."
"You have?"
"All the girls already have their dress picked out." She gave you a look just shy of horror, "Don't tell me...you don't have yours?!"
"Calm down, it's fine. I'll just go buy one tomorrow."
"Are you insane? All the cute ones have already been picked clean! All that's left is second hand"-
"Mei, it's fine." You laughed, "Any dress will do."
"Really? So even if it was pink and full of ribbons?"
"Ah, well..."
She sighed, "I'm glad I told you when I did. Seriously, you're hopeless."
"I'm a little surprised...you're normally more...timid, than this."
"This is the BALL we're talking about! I spent that last two months trying to find the perfect kawaii dress."
"Oh that's right, you're into that sort of stuff."
She hopped off the bed, rummaging through the closet, "If you need to you can borrow an extra one of mine."
"An extra?"
"I bought the ones I found cute so no other girl snatched them up but I eventually picked the one I want, so you can choose from these."
Not to hurt her feelings but you didn't exactly think those dresses would work out on you.
"Thanks, Mei."
This was fairly big news. You slipped on a pair of jeans and a sweater, heading across the grounds. Despite them being empty you could tell the air was abuzz with excitement.
Hey buddy~ Excited for this year's ball?-AL
You laughed, waiting for more.
If you want we can just-
His message was interrupted by another.
Did you hear it's going to be outside? Talk about tacky! You and I should just go to a movie instead. Antonio is actually looking forward to going and Heracles is, well...-Romano
You jammed the phone into your pocket as you jogged up to the garden.
"Hi Eliza."
"Oh, _." She took a break, wiping the dirt off her hands.
"You're picking pumpkins? I thought the Staff did that."
"This year there's a lot more preparations so they let us handle it. And by us I mean me."
