Your hand shook nervously as it gently touched the doorknob. Pulling the door open the familiar figure sat behind the desk, waiting. The room seemed more ominous than usual as you sat down across from him.

"Ah, miss _ pleasure to see you again."

With the recent information having come to light even his smile seemed somewhat sinister. You were alone in a room with a pure blood vampire. You straightened out your skirt fumbling for words.

"I trust that you have been thinking about my proposition?"

"Y-yes!"

He smiled, "I see..."

You shifted in your seat as he longed for a cigar. Come on, _! You have to be strong.

"I've made up my mind."

He raised an eyebrow, "Mmm?" The Headmaster turned to face you, his eyes cold.

"I...I think"-

"Miss _ I want you to carefully consider what you're about to say. Your answer will affect the rest of your life."

"...I understand. Not only my life, but the lives of others around me. So that is why I must politely decline your offer."

"I see."

"As wonderful as it would be to forget...I can't simply do so and ask my friends to bear the weight of the memories alone."

He smiled slightly, "You are an interesting woman, _. I hope you do not come to regret your decision."

You stood up and smiled.

"You are welcome to come back if you change your mind."

"Thank you, but that won't be necessary."

You left the Headmaster's office heading down stairs. You felt proud of yourself-you knew you had made the right decision. If he erased your memories that would include the good ones. That was something you couldn't live with.

BUZZ, BUZZ

You flipped your phone open to see a text.

If you're free can you meet me in the lounge? Thanks! ^.^-Eliza

You smiled, happy to tell her the good news. Jogging down the stairs you reached the longue.

"Eliza"-

"SURPRISE!"

You jumped as you saw your friends leap out of their hiding places.

"Eliza! Did you...?" You were speechless as they all surrounded you, wearing large smiles.

"No, afraid not. That would be Al."

You faced him. He walked shyly closer to you, a small, smug smile on his face.

"Al...you did this?"

"I thought about what you said, and I decided you were right. It's YOUR decision to make. It's our job as your friends to support you."

    "That's right bella!"

"Feliciano." You smiled, the short Italian man grinning.

"We are here for you, _. We wirr support you."

"Thanks Kiku."

"Ja. Don't vorry freund. We vill be right behind you."

"Thanks, Ludwig."

You could feel tears make their way forward. They fell as all your friends stood around you.

"Guys, I already turned down his offer."

It was silent for a moment until they cheered, group hugging. You grinned when your eyes landed on someone.

Slipping away from the group you approached the onlooker. They stiffened when they noticed you heading their way unsure of whether to leave or not.

"Hello, Arthur."

"Ah, hello, _." He was awkward, fumbling with the sleeves of his sweater.

"Thank you."

"Come again?"

You laughed, "For the book. It really helped me."

"Oh, no need to thank me."

The two of you stood in silence.

Clearing his throat he spoke, "I wanted to apologize. Formally this time. You deserve so much more than that; showing you the book was the least I could do." He averted his eyes, "I know what I did was so, so terribly wrong and I'm not asking for your forgiveness. I just"-

"Apology accepted."

"Whuh...?"

"See that group? At least two of them have bitten me. What's one more?"

You knew it was more complicated than that but at this moment you just smiled, dragging him over to the group.

"Hey dudette..." Al called, his voice trailing off as he saw Arthur.

You could feel the tension between the two, neither of them speaking yet. Before things escalated you got their attention.

"I want to say that I appreciate both of you SO much. We've all made mistakes. Me included. So I say we focus on the future, not the past, okay?"

Your hopes shrank as they remained silent until Arthur struck out his hand. Al stared at it for a moment before Kiku bumped into you.

"Ah, so _ how did your exams go?"

"I totally failed."

His face grew pink, "I-I could tutor you if you need it."

"Really? Thanks Kiku!"

"Hey I can help too!" Al chimed in, slinging an arm around your shoulder.

"If you're not against it I could be of some service." Arthur offered.

"With all this help I'm not worried at all." You smiled.

You were so happy. This doesn't mean that things won't be tough from here on out. You weren't sure what would happen next yet you knew whatever it was, your friends could help you get through it. Finally, you were starting to live the college life you had dreamt of.
