BUZZ, BUZZ!
You reached into your bag pulling out your cellphone.
It was from Arthur.
Hello _, do you have time to talk today?
Sorry, I have both day and night classes. :( Why, what's up?
There was something I wanted to talk to you about...concerning your memories.
Your eyes lingered on the text before responding. Truth be told you had noticed some new changes, though you couldn't quite place a finger on what. You did know your friends were treating you differently. Just the other day you were hanging out with Al at the diner talking about your classes. However he seemed agitated, his mind somewhere else.
What time do you want to meet up?
You sighed, knowing that wouldn't exactly be a cheerful conversation.
Meet me in the Classical Music Room tonight when all your classes are over.
Sure enough, you spent the rest of the day wondering what he'd talk about. You trusted Arthur but at the same time this wasn't exactly a carefree topic. You climbed the stairs, walking down the dark, desolate hallway, pushing the wooden door open.
A soft yellow light filled the room, gentle music playing. Arthur noticed you, immediately standing.
"There's no need to be so formal." You smiled, watching him sit back down again.
"Please." He gestured to the sofa, sitting down across from him.
"So..." You started, not really sure what to say.
"_, I'm sure you're aware things have been a little...off."
You nodded.
"The truth is you've been in a sort of accident."
"An accident?"
That sounded traumatic.
"Due to that fact you've lost some of your memories."
He watched you take the information in, your (color) eyes focused on your lap.
"I have noticed that everyone is treating me different. All my friends seem distant except I don't know why."
"There is a way to get your memories back."
"Really?" You looked up, hopeful.
He rubbed the back of his neck, "However, it isn't without consequence. The process isn't painless. For one, you'll gain all of them back, including some you might rather want to forget. On the plus side it'll clear up any possible misunderstandings between you and your friends."
"I'll do it."
"E-excuse me? There's no reason to rush"-
"I'll do it. I need to remember Arthur, it feels like pieces of me are gone; I was so afraid I'd never get them back."
"...I see." He moved to sit next to you on the sofa, "As long as you're one-hundred percent sure and won't come to regret it."
"If I regret it then I wasn't doing something right. These are memories of my friends and I. True, there are bound to be bad ones. Ones that might make me scared. However I can't allow my friends to bear them without me."
"Heh, you are a very noble woman, _."
You blushed slightly, "What is it that we have to do? For me to regain them?"
His face became clearly agitated, worried even.
"There are two steps to gaining your memories. One, I have to bite you."
Bite me?!
"Two, you have to drink an elixir composed of my blood."
What? It sounded very medieval and painful.
"B-b-bite me? Drink your blood? But that sounds..." You trailed off, not able to speak the words.
"I wish you would gain your memories at step one however...you would only become aware of a fact, nothing more."
He was speaking in riddles. Still, you were determined to close the growing gap between you and your friends. You had to.
"Okay."
He smiled slightly, gesturing for you to lie down, leaning over you. He began to unbutton your white shirt collar, you sweating in nervousness.
"I promise I'll be gentle..." He pressed his lips against your neck, instantly covered in goose flesh.
His teeth grazed your skin, pricking it, feeling blood flow down your neck.
"A-arthur...I'm scared."
He backed up, worry decorating his brow. He pet your head, fingers combing through your hair.
"It'll be alright." He smiled sweetly at you.
You smiled back, slowly relaxing.
"Do you want to try the other part first?"
You thought hard before answering, "Okay..."
He walked over to the table, opening the drawer before returning with an ornate knife in his hand.
Sitting down next to you, you watched as he dragged the knife across his palm, red flowing out of the wound.
He pressed his hand against your lips, instantly tasting the rust. Your tongue lapped over the wound, his green eyes fixated on you. The blood was strong, making your stomach feel sick.
It's okay, _. This will be over and then you'd have your memories back. Everything would go back to normal.
He removed his hand, wiping away a stray stream of blood from the corner of your lips.
"How do you feel?"
"...I'm okay."
He hovered over you, placing his hands on each side of your head. He nuzzled your neck, kissing it gently. You could feel the room grow hotter, fidgeting under him. His fangs raked against your flesh before piercing it, sinking in all the way.
"Ahhh..." You moaned, Arthur beginning to suck at your neck.
Wait...something was wrong.
"A-ah!" The pain grew more intense, a burning sensation.
"It hurts!"
He kept drinking, sucking harder.
The place where his fangs were felt on fire, spreading through the rest of your body. Tears welled in your eyes, gripping at the back of his shirt.
"Please...stop." You plead, feeling lightheaded.
The room began to spin, tears falling freely. However he couldn't stop. Not now. He needed this to work, he needed you back with all of your memories. Needed you free from the Headmaster's spell.
"Gh." Saliva dripped from your mouth, him reaching your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours.
"Arthur." You whispered, a sudden surge of pain making you go weak. You could barely stand it anymore.
You screamed out in pain, him gripping your hand tighter. White flashed across your vision, your body feeling light and empty.
Eventually he let go, lips lifting off of your neck. The area around the wound had bruised, skin bright with purple and yellow.
"_." He spoke, images of of his face in focus before quickly blurring again, "Oh, _."
You felt his lips against your forehead, something wet dripping down on your cheeks.
The last thing you saw before slipping into unconsciousness was his beautiful emerald eyes, wet with tears.
