 "I see..."

The Headmaster replied somewhat solemnly.

"And there's nothing I can do to change your mind?"

"I'm afraid not."

He thought behind his large desk, "...Do you mind if I asked why?"

You frowned slightly. You weren't going back into those details. You hated what you were doing. By tomorrow morning you would be gone...as if you were never here.

"It was too much after all..." You said, trying to hold back tears. You knew you were abandoning your friends. However you couldn't keep playing this game. It had become too much. There was nothing they or anyone could do. So you'd leave.

"I understand. Well I can prepare all the needed paperwork for your departure tomorrow morning." He stood up from his desk, "The Academy will be terribly sorry to have lost you but we respect your decision. Tell me, have you spoke to your parents?"

A quick shiver of panic ran through you, "N-no, not yet. I was going to contact them later tonight under the pretense I was sick until I could explain in person..."

"I see. Very wise." He had a weak smile, outstretching his hand, "Good luck on your future endeavours Miss _."

You reached out to shake his hand, "Thank you."

WHAM!

"Ugh!"

Your stomach was slammed against the bookcase, a few toppling to the ground.

"WHAT"-

His hand covered your mouth, his laughter filling the room.

"I'm sorry, _. I can't allow you to leave. Our race is at risk the moment you step out those gates."

Let go of me!! What the hell is going on?!

His free hand strayed over neck, "Such smooth skin, _. I'm envious."

You froze, feeling his lips against your skin. You expected them to be dry and chapped but were soft, running freely over your skin. You panted against his palm, trying to breathe.

"Ouch!" He pulled back his hand, his finger throbbing where you bit him. However he didn't let you go, only pressing you harder against the bookcase.

"Let me go!"

"That's no way to act towards your superior, is it? Looks like you'll have to learn some proper manners. We'll start with your submissiveness."

"Ack!"

His fangs pierced you, blood quickly draining. You instantly felt week, legs wobbly.

Is this what it feels to be bitten by a matured pure-blood?

You watched on in fear, his wrinkles slowly disappearing.

"This is...I knew it was you..._,The Water of Life..."

Everything faded to black.

**

Arthur was visibly upset, walking quickly down the upstairs hallway.

Knock, knock! On the Headmaster's door.

Silence.

Knock, Knock! Again.

He was losing his patience, opening the door.

He froze, watching on in horror at the scene before him. _ was dangling by the Headmaster's clutches, a lifeless doll. The Headmaster turned towards the door, blood smeared over his chin, grinning when he saw the student.

"YOU!" Arthur yelled. He felt helpless as he watched her body drop the the floor.

"May I help you?" He asked in a soft tone.

"What the blood hell did you do to her?!"

"I ensure you, she's fine."

"What were you doing to her? Explain!" Arthur would've punched his superior if it weren't for the risk of being expelled. If that happened there was now way he could help _. He stared him down, noticing how younger he looked.

"It...can't be..."

The Headmaster wiped off the blood with a handkerchief, "You know as well as I do, Arthur. Vampires are dying off. Their life spans are being cut short for no reason. What used to be thousands of years is now a measly few hundred."

"Is that not enough for you?! You would hurt an innocent woman for your own gains!"

"Haha. Oh Arthur. So naive. I started this Academy to protect everyone. That includes their entire life. I will not have my hard work be undone. And look, we found the solution to our problems. Miss _ is no ordinary human. You've bitten her, I'm sure you noticed it."

Arthur frowned, not helping being able to remember her sweet taste.

"Her blood is the key to eternal life. With that much time vampire families could grow-we could soon rival that of the humans!"

"So that was your plan...Heh, all this talk of co-existence, you didn't mean a word of it, did you?"

"I'm truly hurt. Of course I meant those words. However you have to get rid of the bad apples to prevent the whole bushel from rotting."

His fist clenched, "Monster! Look at what you're doing!!"

"I'm protecting you, all of you! At the cost of this one girl. Don't you think one life for thousands is worth it? She won't die...she'll be kept alive."

"I won't let you...you can't"-

"Can't what?" His tone grew dark, eyes gleaming, "You drank her blood already...can't you feel yourself rejuvenated whenever you merely think of her? You'll outlive your great-grand children at this rate. Unless we use her blood."

"You won't spill another drop"-

"Enough! This is not your place, boy. Think of who you are dealing with. If it's a declaration of war so be it but no more of this squabbling. I know you can sense the mark. MY mark is the only thing protecting her. Everyone will know she is mine and mine alone."

Those cold eyes stared back at him. In a huff Arthur left, fist shaking.
