"This sucks."

You watched the rain patter against the window, casting everything outside in dark, gray hues. So much for spending your last day swimming.

Knock, knock!

Opening the door Al walked past you inside the room, "You dudes see this? Total bummer."

Eliza sat on the bed where you joined her, hugging a white pillow, "There's not much we can do about it."

    "Hallo?"

Ludwig, accompanied by Feliciano, entered the room. From the looks of it Feli wasn't too happy about the weather.

"Maybe it'll stop soon."

"Hey," you started, "Where's Kiku?"

"He's still resting. We told him we'd be next door."

Arthur flopped down on the bed between you girls, "Augh! Isn't there anything fun to do?"

"I heard there's a game room near the lobby."

"Um," Ludwig spoke, "Feli and I are a little hungry."

"Oh. Hmm, well want to order some takeout? I only have water here." Eliza offered, showing them the laminated placard(?) of businesses.

You felt an arm on your shoulder, "Meantime _ and I will scope out the game room!" He smiled, dragging you out of the room.

Once in the hall he let go, "Ugh, it was sooo depressing in there."

"Really?" You didn't really get that vibe. Was he feeling guilty somehow about Kiku?

"Are you alright?"

"Huh?" He looked surprised, "Why would you ask that?"

"I don't know...you just seemed"-

"Hey I'm fine! No need to worry. Let's go check this place out."

He walked ahead of you, watching his back. He wore a blue sleeveless hoodie with jean shorts. His hair stuck up in some places from sleeping on it. You giggled softly. He turned his head to raise an eyebrow at you but remained silent.

The game room was across from the lobby just like she said. It was bright compared to the rest of the hotel, blue/purple carpeting and white walls. It was a little jarring but the rest of the room was more relaxed, thick chairs situated in the far left corner away from the windows.

"Ping pong!" Al exclaimed, rushing towards the tables in the center of the room.

He grabbed some paddles, practicing his swing. The green tabletop was a little dusty and the paddles scarred but decent. There was a vending machine on the right wall near the entryway. This could be a nice place to hang out.

"Let's play." He handed you a red paddle, walking to the opposite side. "Now just because you're a girl doesn't mean I'll go easy on you."

"Tch. Just because I'M a girl doesn't mean I'll go easy."

He grinned in good-natured competition.

The white ping pong ball was flying towards you. Fast. He didn't give you a warning or anything, quickly putting the game into action. You raised your arm and swung.

Plunk...plunk...plunk...

"..."

"Hahahaha!" He burst out laughing. You slowly turned to see the ball rolling to a stop behind you. I missed it?!

"Wow _! That was super." He clutched his stomach, bent over from chuckling.

"It wasn't THAT funny."

"Yes it was! Aww, you're amazing."

You crossed your arms.

        "Hey!"

You both turned towards the sound, Feliciano bounding into the room.

"You two are having fun." He grinned, "Can I play?"

"Might as well. Al is no match for me."

You dared him to laugh but he held back, smirking.

"Sure, I'll play you."

"Yay!"

Sitting down on the chairs in the corner you had perfect seats to watch. Feli struggled at first, but then again he could hit the ball. You could tell Al was going easy on him. Taking out your cell phone you looked up the weather.

"Darn." It'd be raining well into tonight.

BUZZ, BUZZ

Just checking in. I hope you all are having fun.-Arthur

You beamed, typing a quick response.

Is that so? Sorry to hear about the weather. At least you all are finding proper ways to occupy yourselves-Arthur

Proper? What other ways for a group of young college students staying together in a hotel to have fun? :P

...I know you're teasing but it doesn't ease my worries-Arthur

Haha, you're so fun to tease though! I wish you were here.

Really?-A

Of course! It's only natural to want to be with all your friends. Everyone else wanted to see you too.

I can guarantee not everyone wished to see me-A

Oh. Well he's Al. Once he warms up to you you'll be inseparable.

You always did have a refreshing sense of optimism.-A

If you don't mind me asking...why couldn't you come?

Ah, well being part of the Student Council there are duties we have to perform, even when on break. Lots of paperwork. -A

I see. Sorry you can't really enjoy your summer.

No need to be so down, _. There'll be plenty of other chances to have fun. Summer isn't quite over yet.-A

That's true! :) I'll bring you back some souvenirs.

You don't have to do that-

Whoops! Gtg, food is ready. ttyl?

Of course. I'll be waiting-Arthur

"Who are you talking to?"

"Huh?"

Al stepped closer, "You're grinning like an idiot."

"No one! Tumblr, actually."

"Okaay...anyway, food is upstairs. Ludwig and Feli went to check on Kiku."

You both left the lounge area, walking down the halls, "I hope he's feeling better."

Lunch/dinner was (favorite takeout). The rest of the day everyone relaxed in Eliza's room. You'd watch TV, movies, play some card games or occasionally some ping pong. Kiku had healed some but was still exhausted, sleeping most of the day. Everyone took turns going to visit him, either giving pain meds or refreshing a damp cloth on his forehead.

While it wasn't the greatest end, you really had enjoyed yourself at the ocean. Like Arthur said, there would still be more instances to be with friends before school started. For now you'd go to sleep and head back to the dorm tomorrow morning.
