The next morning arrived rather quickly for we were all exhausted and needed the sleep we obtained that night. We were thankfully invited to stay in the old fortress just on the outskirts of the town; however, we were intruded on for our breakfast.

"Hello, is anyone in here?" A broad voice of a woman pierced the air, leaving nothing but silence in the room. Soon she made her appearance.

It was Nellie, the leader of everyone.

Her carmel-blonde hair fell gracefully to the sides of her shoulders and stung the air while diamond shards in the shape of stars floated while they stuck in her hair, giving it more of an evanescent glow. Her pale icy blue eyes were nearly grey, however this blue left more of an edgy glow. They only had two uses: to make herself look like one crazy scary mage and one very royal queen. They used to be a deep blue, however they reflected the time of day. The last time we met her it was almost midnight.

But she wasn't a queen. She was our leader. We chose her.

Well not exactly her. We chose her grandfather's great grandfather. He was a brave warrior who saved us. Her family's power was on the decline. She was only still in charge only because another brave warrior hadn't made his appearance yet. Nellie knew her time was coming to an end, or so Josh and Dawnlight told me. She was afraid of the end most certainly. Nellie knew someone was going to come for her sometime since her family was now ranked eighteenth in the highest power. And everyone knew she was the only reason it was still that high.

Yet she didn't let anyone tell her otherwise. She lived and reined as if she was still almighty-which she was. She still had the ability to use every element—even light and darkness. Heather can't even use light and darkness. She can only use fire.

Nellie's skin looked even paler now. It was as if she hadn't seen the sunlight in weeks. It was strange, but she was a creature of the night. In the realm of the UWT daylight depended on the season. Seasons were strange there. There'd be snow but it wasn't that bitterly cold. In the summer, the nights would be long but it wasn't burning hot.

Her dress was a warm light pale blue color with fluffy white fluff on the collar, ends of the long sleeves, and bottom of the skirt that dragged on the floor. Her shoes were clean silver-strapped sandal-heels. She was elegant and stunning in her presence. There was no one else like her that you would meet.

"Oh hi Nellie, Heather and Max are just out gathering supplies! They're gonna be back in a bit, trust me!" Josh stood up quickly and answered while stuttering the entire time. He was nervous, obviously, since he 'lost Heather and Max'.

"No need to worry dear. I already know they're in the Moonlight Caverns resting. I already visited them this morning. Heather gained her immunity to the damages of the moonlight water, did you know? She wasn't awake when I went to visit, both her and Max were out cold. I have a suspicion that they decided to go, what's the word, exploring, yes that's it. Exploring. They had the urge to explore the caverns."

Rheannah stood up next, "oh no no no, not with the monster in there—"

"They came face to face with the monster. I went in to check the barrier after I heard that Max had caused quite the ruckus the night before carrying a girl with the power of fire through the caverns. The barrier that we had placed was destroyed and a stronger barrier stood in its place. It had the same structure of those created by the Issola academy but it had a tracing spell infused in it. If someone were to touch the barrier or even as much as breathe on it, Heather would know because the barrier would inform her. She did not slack off on creating it. It was way better than the old one."

Rheannah slammed her fist on the table, "but the monster! He's the same monster that—"

"Rest assured you, they are both alright. Your brother actually was able to bring back an entire bottle of the purest spring water. He didn't even bring his sword with him. Both of them were unarmed. The monster may be dangerous; however it hesitated with Heather around."

"Yeah, anyone would hesitate with her around; she's made quite a name for herself by now." Rheannah grumbled.

"Indeed she has," Nellie responded. She pulled a newspaper out of her sleeve and placed it on the table, "just read the front page."

I picked up the newspaper, "The Universe Watch Tower's Daily News: Only 2 Survivors of the Destruction of Issola." I looked up at Nellie before I continued to read on, "Only four people are current survivors of the destroyed city of Issola. Two residents and their two trainers made their appearance outside of Issola. The two trainers of the survivors, both NuBlancs are currently holding the custody of the survivors, which are only children. Heather Mellissa, age 12, the powerful prodigy student of Issola's battle academy and one of her triplet sisters, Sheria Mellissa, are the only reported survivors. Heather was on the front lines of the war only days prior to the destruction while her sisters were just newly accepted into the academy. Heather Mellissa, her sister Sheria Mellissa, and both their trainers managed to escape the chaos and find allies on their new mission: to stop the rogue experiments which became of the citizens of Issola. Recently Heather Mellissa has allied with Maxamus Merrywell, heir to the Merrywell family and his sister, Rheannah Merrywell to accomplish their goals to protect the places under the UWO's guidance from the wrath of this unknown group that is terrorizing the cities of the UWO. 'They have the perfect team composition for a young group starting out,' states Andrea Leximan of Prontiena, 'They have two great young swordsmen, a highly skilled mage leading them, and two trainers held highly in reputation, and a healer. They cover their bases.' Another isn't so hopeful, 'I do not believe this will work. They're still too young and incompetent. I hope Max and Rheannah remember their heritage and upbringing to realize they're foolish.' Was the response of Clarise Clemington of the Moonlight Caverns. What will become of these children, and will they rise to fame or quickly disband? We won't know today, or even tomorrow. Nevertheless, perhaps they are our only hope for a safe future without several wars." I finished reading the article and looked to Josh, "Heather's gaining fame. Perhaps this will give her the courage to take out Jean and Frank after all."

"We have recovered Zena from the scene and are working on reviving her true self from the monster they turned her into. It seems that you somehow knocked whatever it was in her out of her for the most part." Nellie responded.

"That was me. I threw a vial of pure moonlight spring water in her face to distract her so I could get away. I was running out of room to fight." Rheannah folded her arms, making sure her sword was in Nellie's sight the entire time, "are you saying that it actually worked?"

Nellied nodded in her response, "moonlight water purifies the soul. It means her soul was tainted. It gives you an advantage. Whoever you are against is trying to mess with souls."

"Which means they're into light and darkness. Luckily for us we have no knowledge in either." Dawnlight sighed, "Time to hit the books again. We'll just have to wait for Heather and Max to get back."

"Once you do recover those two come to the UWT, I would like a word with those two. I was very lugubrious when I found out I couldn't speak with either of them." Nellie swiftly left just as she came. "Oh and Josh, I do assume you will take better care of things, won't you now? After all, this girl Heather here should be treated highly considering Thalia doesn't protect just anyone. Not only that but Maxamus is not only an heir but protected by Puggy, and you know just as well as I do who his father was."

"Y-yes ma'am!" Josh shouted, standing up straighter. He was caught and he knew it. His face was more red than a ripened strawberry and he was perspiring quite more than usual.

"You were caught red-handed," Dawnlight laughed after Nellie left the castle.

Josh shook his head, "I told you I should've went after her."

I sighed, "Heather's safe, and so is Max. Everything is fine. We have nothing to worry about here. We should just be grateful of what we have right now."

"Besides, Nellie wants to see both of them, not us. That's what we really should be concerned about." Rheannah started to walk a circle around Josh and I, "so, I think we all know Heather isn't normal here. If she were, we wouldn't be here now, would we? I think it's finally time we all come clean with what we know about her."
